Dave sands v bernard hopkins, freddie dawson v kostya tszyu

Can make a case for either really. It's hard with Sands especially. He was obviously good, but we don't know just how good. Bernard is a proven certified ATG. KT as well, to a lesser degree.

Sands' career cut short by his early death.
Which version of Hopkins to compare to
etc.

Does Dave get the same juice options as B-Hop??? Pump a pharmaceutical factory into Sands and he belts the pharmaceuticals out of Hopkins.

I'd back Sands over SRR 7 times out of 10 also.

I'd also take the orthodox Dawson over Tszyu.

 

Id take Dawson over Kostya...compact and well built lil fighter, great on the inside with an excellent right over the top.

Spells disaster for Tszyu IMO...Freddie would take Kostya out of his favoured range and smother him for punching room, which he needs.

 

Boxing has progressed so much since the early days and there would be few fighters that could match todays fighters.
Fitness,technique and nourishment have improved markedly.
Some of the early Melbourne cup winners would just be turning for home when todays winners cross the line.
Boxers own their era, but to even contemplate comparing them to todays and your dreaming.

 

I think the idea is to take an oldtimer and give him the benefits of today's training and nutritional environment
