I feel this way, if Moore trades with Mugabi in the early going, he's going to lose by 3rd round knockout or technical knockout. If he boxes early, and steps up the pace later, he'll win by late round stoppage, or UD 15.
I think even if Moore boxes, he gets caught. I mean Davey was hittable regardless, and Mugabi had fast hands. Mugabi KO 5 in a war!
Could be, but Davey had some power too, which John would find out real quick if he rushed in too fast.
Wow, Moore's really underrated. He achieved more in a few short years then Mugabi arguably did his entire career, and this includes better wins at 154 as well. They both fought the dangerous power punching Gary Guiden within a year or so also. Took Moore four to get him out of there, Mugabi 3. Funny thing is that Guiden have Mugabi a very, very hard time in what was Guiden's final fight
Mugabi had ATG potential, he just didn't have the heart. Moore could have been a very good fighter, but he was rushed too fast and took that bad beating from Duran that he never recovered from. They both never reached their true potential, but I think John could have been a much better fight than Davey could have been.
Before Duran, Moore had never been down, so I think Davey survives some hellacious thunder to come back, and stop Mugabi in the eighth.
