Ayala the most overrated fighter of all time.

Moore would have less hassle with him than he had with Duran. Moore to win, Ayala was basic as **** and woul've been shown up if he'd stepped it up against anyone who isn't an old woman.

I mean, bar that lanky white mush who did he spark? What top notch opponents did he face?

Who did Davey Moore beat as a mere novice? Forgive me for sounding mad, but I'll go with Davey Moore thanks.

    Why ? :fire ;-)

Valero for sure, better oppo', looked far more formidble IMO.

Ayala looked exciting and has Golden Gloves pedigree or whatnot, but I imagine 'Hands of Stone' would've done for a mentally unstable Ayala what he did to a green Moore.

As it stands, I reckon Moore could outmanouver him. Ayala just bombed. Impressie yes, but it just wouldn't suffice against top level oppo' IMO.

If I hadn't read the thread title and you hadn't mentioned any names I'd put 100 quid on you talking about Valero.

Similar built up records. Who knows how good Ayala couldve been? Fact is he wasn't the finished product (unless he was doing a bad impression of Sung Kil Moon...who is actually after his time I think  :patsch) and didn't prove anything about his level. Ayalas followers verge on the insane IMO (some of 'em on the Classic for sure) but he was no Kouji Sato.

He was no Edwin 'The Truth' Valero. Valero would have been the next Pacquiao.
