Can anyone explain to me why Allen legitimately is the favorite in this bout?

Because Browne looked HORRIBLE in his last three fights since coming back from the brutal KO loss vs. Whyte. His punch resistance his gone, his legs are gone (slow as ****), apparently he's in better shape (better optic) than vs. Whyte but he looks flabby and skinny, physically weak. He barely beat Kamil Sokolowski, the fight was razor close, could have been a draw aswell. Allen on the other side probably in best shape of his career, solid power and great chin, hard to crack him. The facts are clear. Of course Browne can grind out a decision, this isn't impossible but a Allen KO imo is more likely here. Browne is shot. Expect an Allen KO between 7-12.

Of course Allen is garbage but he's crafty and has some pop, this might be enough for that version of Lucas Browne in 2019.

Still, he won his fights and the guy he got in trouble to is Kamil "don't look at my record because I'm infinitely better as it looks" Sokolowski, who had previously beaten Allen's best win inside 3 rounds.

Allen has never beaten a guy close to past it Browne's level up to now in his career.

I'm glad to see the South American gay icon headline the O2 against the Australian Big Daddy. :chuck:

Of course Sokolowski is better than his record and yeah Allen isn't good but i can only tell you what public sees here. And it's reasonable. There is no reason to make this fight closer than it actually is. Browne is just a name these days. He's shot to pieces. You'll see that today. I have a small bet on Lucas Browne wins via decision because odds are simply unreal (+850) but i can't see it. If we excluding some boxrec stats and Triangle theories then it should be Allen KO in the second half of the fight. No doubt about that. Browne also has bad skin, he cuts in most of his fights from nothing and is old. We'll see later this evening but do not be surprised if Browne isn't even seeing the second half of the fight and the first big overhand right by Allen sends him to the canvas. If Sokolowski would have fought a bit more aggressive he might have stopped him at some point although i think Browne at least has a boxing brain as he made some adjustments during the fight although it were basic things (like do not stand in front of your opponent while he's coming in and throwing).

    Agreed.

The timing is with Allen. I think Browne is totally shot and just trying to get a couple of paydays before he sails into the sunset.

Allen wins this by late KO

It's a good fight this. Obviously not bona fide headline material but I like genuinely intriguing close contests.

The only caveat is we don't know exactly how bad Browne is. He's either really bad, or f***** awful.

If it's the former and Allen doesn't use a bit of lateral movement then he could be in trouble because Browne can (in theory at least) still really bang. If it's the latter then Allen runs over him within 6-8 rounds.

I really hope Browne is in shape because it was downright foolish turning up to the Dillion Whyte fight like he did. He could have been killed and nearly was.

Browne is in great shape, he looked fine against Sokolowski won basically every round, Allen has Sokolowski like power, Browne can take it. Sure Long hurt him, but Allen isn't 7 feet tall and get that kind of leverage on his shots, and look what happened when Long hurt him, he knocked Long unconscious. Allen is a face first plodder that was being beaten up by Bracamonte, Yoka and Webb, Browne may be shot, but he sure as hell can still punch, and probably a hell of a lot harder than those three. Browne wins by TKO.

Maybe great shape to look at but that means jack. Haye looked in wonderful shape v Bellew and was absolutely terrible. I suspect Browne is the same way.

As for Allen, he still stood up to a roided Yoka for 12 rounds and knocked Webb clean out. You got to give him that.

Sokolowski who just got dominated by Browne knocked Webb clean out as well, that doesn't mean ****.

And like I said, Browne in all likelihood hits a hell of a lot harder than Yoka. Now imagine how much harder Browne hits when he landing flush on DAVID ALLEN, you know, aka the punching bag.

It's interesting in terms of not knowing who's gonna win but this has the potential to be an absolute stinker. I'll back Allen to catch Browne with an overhand right as Browne's punch resistance which has never been the best will struggle to take especially if Julius Long can hurt him and Browne doesn't have the power to stop Allen imo.

    Allen TKO 8.
