Fair decision. Peterson made the fight harder than it had to be. Had he boxed from the outside it would have been fairly easy, but boring. Props to him for standing in and giving us a decent scrap.

    Very good cards
    I see Peterson fighting Porter
That would be a good fight

Cards too generouns for Avanesyan, but whatever they got it right. Peterson should box in 3 or 4 months again.

Actually if you look at the array of people's individual RBR scoring, even though 116-112 Peterson was the mean & median (and mode) score probably no two people arrived there via the same path. That leaves room for a draw or a 7-5 Avanesyan card, especially with everybody seeming to agree that, no matter who they were scoring them for, most of the rounds were fought closely.

Flip side of that coin, 118-110 Peterson is also perfectly reasonable.

    Just that kind of fight.

Peterson looks rather fresh, hardly breathing, maybe 147 really suits him.

Lamont caught a lot of Avanesyan's work on his elbows and gloves, from what I was gathering. I don't think the fight was as close as the announcers thought.

Will somebody explain to this mug doing ringside correspondent service for Showtime that you can't say to a female (even an athlete, referring to her Olympic gold medals...that she, oddly, carries in her purse 24/7) to "whip em out!! Whip em out, PLEASE? :D"
