Tbh dont recall much about the lad aside he got beaten very easily by Frankie Gavin last year , 2x british champ tho so must have summin about him , Noticed he has relocated to Glasgow and signed up to be trained and promoted by Sam Kynoch of SK Promotions a lad who does well in White Collar and is now dipping his toe in the pro ranks

I remember him when he was younger on a couple of Scott Harrison undercards, was a good slick skilful fighter who I fancied to get to European/Fringe World class level. Lacked power and some times workrate, but great skills. I think Maleys right about him being in a car crash, plus I think he had loads of injuries outwith that and was inactive for two long. Remember back then he had a hot burd I seen him with after one of his fights

I think David Barnes dedication let him down because he had it all really. Barnes was naturally awkward and he was a big puncher who through massive hooks to the body.
I'm a big fan of Frankie Gavins and him vs a prime Barnes would of been a good 50/50 fight.

Stevie, if Barnes is serious he could won a strap as he's certainly got the experience.
Moog, when you look back at Scott Harrison's undercards at the amount of World Champions and domestic Champions that were supporting him. I mean you had: Amir Khan, Junior Witter, Ricky Burns, Alex Arthur, Matthew Macklin, Willie Limond, John Simpson, Paul McCloskey, Kevin McIntyre, Lawrence Murphy, Lee McAllister, Michael Gomez, Wayne El****, Anthony Farnell, Nigel Wright and Bradley Pryce. Top cards when you look back now!

Nice one! I'm sure your Brother would have told you Barnes throws a good right hook to the body then.
I remember him when he came through and as moog mentioned he was on Scott's undercard. Barnes was a talent it's just one of those things we never saw the best of him.

Your right Ryan, I was thinking that the other month. Remember Nigel Wright's supporters one night at the Braehead, what a noise they made. was properly only 100-150 of them but they made themselves, even in the bar outside the arena in the shopping centre.

Aye moog those Harrison Braehead nights were magical. Wright fought on them a few times, he was a good fighter. AAA brought good chanters through from Leith as well. I remember meeting Rangers striker and Argentina Legend Claudio Caniggia at one of them as he was supporting his fellow countrymen Julio Pablo Chacon. I also enjoyed a beer with Neil Lennon at the Polo fight. Those were great nights and what about that big fight in the crowd at Medina 2 before the first bell. You even see Medina and his corner looking up and pointing as if to say "This Glasgow's f*cking mental".
