No it's because Plant has better defense. Calzaghes defense is his offense which keeps you in a defensive position.

His resume is filled with low opposition. That's the point. Not where the fights we geographically held. Calzaghe didn't come face top opposition until late in his career

It really is hilarious how people cling to Benavidez getting dropped by Gavril when he was 20 but overlook Calzaghe going life and death with Robin Reid during his own prime

Not happening vs David Benavidez. You can't just out volume him darting in and out. Demtirius Andrade tried

Calzaghe was far better than Andrade.

I think Calzaghe would stop him.

Yes everyone is far better than Andrade after Benavidez wrecked him right. Pity the champions refused to fight him and prove it.

Wasn't really the point. Andrade punches did nothing to Benavidez. Calzaghe probably has less power than Andrade.

That's what they said about Lacy.

Against Hopkins, Joe was pushed down, and against Jones he was hit by an elbow.

And Joe was never down in his first 37 fights, and even as an older boxer, he always got up to win.

Is this thread still even ongoing.. sorry but Benavidez' resume is pure trash:

-Andrade. Career MW. Had fought ONE fight since 2021. Opponent was terrible.

-Gvozdyk. Retired in 2019 LMAO.. fight looked fixed too.

-Plant. Had fought ONE fight in the 2 years since the Canelo KO. A 40 year old B- level Direll brother who has nothing on his resume other than a 34 year old Bika.. whom by the way he needed two fights to beat.

-Lemieux. A career MW who'd had just 5 low level fights in 4 years. Lemieux has no business even fighting anymore let alone at SMW. Just cringe.

-Dirrell. There's nothing there.. Truax? Come on ffs..

I'll say it again, his resume is despicable. A guy whos clearly a CW fighting this level of opposition.. call me when this fella fights someone with a pulse. It's insulting matching this guy up against HOFers.

His resume is actually very good for someone with his number of fights and age. I would gladly compare it to anyone's at that point. 5 former WC by age 27 and 29 pro fights, is very rare.

Haters have been spewing the same script about his resume even after he fought Plant, Andrade and Gvozdyk. They won't change after Morrell either.

At 175 maybe DB has a shot at a win as JC wasn't at that weight until late and he went life and death with a senior citizen. I'd say it's 50/50 at 175 only because DB is heavier and more comfortable. Probably comes in around 190 fight night.

At 168 Joe slaps DB to a decision.

People say Benavidez is overrated but threads like this prove he is still underrated. Interesting the hate he gets despite challenging himself constantly.

    Plant
    Andrade
    Gvozdyk
    Morrell.

That's a better run than almost everyone in boxing today, yet apparently they feel like focusing on the Lemeuix and Kyrone Davis fights. Amusing.
