    Please don't act like boxing isn't a sport where guys typically make 2-3 paychecks in a year. It's not a team sport where your money is already in the bank and you can miss a few games or weeks or even months.

    I think Benevidez has a VERY good chance of beating Clenelo (provided that he is allowed a full training camp and isn't crippled by Clenelo shenanigans like rehydration clauses).

    Punches faster and harder than Clenelo.

    Understood but Callum Smith was a world champion who should not step into the ring unless he is fully prepared. Billy Joe Saunders and Caleb Plant absolutely would not take a fight on short notice especially the biggest fight of your career.

    Thats a tough situation to be in. Pass on the biggest fight of your entire career or prepare for the biggest fight of your career with only 3 weeks notice. I would have taken it. At least, in my mind, I can justify my performance on the lack of prep time. You honestly would have passed on the opportunity to fight?

    You don't get completely outclassed and beaten from pillar to post by a much smaller man just because your camp was short.

    No one's saying that Smith would have won with a proper training camp. But the man wasn't afforded one. Just because he's a class or two below does not mean he doesn't deserve a full training camp.

    This isn't rocket science.

    I'm sick and tired of watching adults refuse to take responsibility for their choices after the fact and complain about injuries and short camps after they lose. If Callum Smith wanted the fight that bad then preparing for Canelo should have been a full time job for him

    What an idiotic response. If the Clenelo fight was a possibility, but not guaranteed, why would Smith or any other fighter spend the funds to pay trainers and sparring partners and go hard in training for a fight that might not come?

    Why are you opposed to fighters having sufficient time for a proper training camp?

    True enough, but a short csmp didn't help. Personally, I doubt Smith would have won. He only would have gotten less whooped........maybe.
