David Benavidez isn’t a big threat to Canelo

Canelo doesn’t share your opinion. Also, just because the Nail was able to take everything Benavidez threw at him doesn’t mean Canelo would be able to. OG also doesn’t have questionable stamina like Canelo.

Canelo knows it’s a tough fight, his fans have more faith in him winning the fight than he does.

It's pretty obvious what Canelo is doing: he knows that the longer he waits, the harder it gets for Benavidez to be able to cut down to 168.

Canelo might not be "scared" of Benavidez but he certainly realises that Benavidez poses the biggest threat to him at 168, so he's waiting him out. He's not actually holding out for $200m, that's a ridiculous sum of money which no one will pay.

Canelo isn't stupid, he knows that the fight is not worth nearly that much, when in the biggest money fight in recent years, Fury-Usyk (which is much bigger than Canelo-Benavidez), Fury only got half of that from the Saudis to face Usyk.

Canelo learnt from his mistake of facing Bivol for relative peanuts, he doesn't want another L on his record.

That wasn't Kovalev. It was the ghost of the Krusher. He looked awful. That was not the Canelo fight that compels my admiration.

Gvozdyk was similarly old and faded, yet prime Benavidez couldn't stop him.

No. There is little if any equivalence here.

I agree. This is like Floyd stretching it out before finally fighting Pacman: everybody knew that Floyd could stink out the joint and get a decision at any time. But he didn't believe it. Or he was making fiscal calculations and looking for the appropriate window. I kinda think that he wasn't comfortable in his chances until after KTFO6, but that's just me. It appears that Canelo is aping Floyd in every detail. And why would he not?

I think Canelo beats Benavidez, but I think he's ducking because the loss to Bivol absolutely spooked him. Before Bivol, he was talking about going to Cruiserweight. I think the Bivol loss reminded him of how small he really is, and Benavidez is really big.

36yo Kovalev was by all accounts better than semi-retired 37yo Gvozdyk.

Kovalev came off of a brutal fight and had to fight again 2 months later with a rehydration clause. He was severely weakened in that fight.

Canelo slobbers still think that’s a legit win.

If Benevidez is so average, the coward would face fought him already. We all know he’s afraid.

While I think Canelo has a few doubts, I don't, and by no means am I a Canelo fanboy. Here's a few posts of mine from last year.

    Disagree 10/10. Kovalev was broken.

If you could get 150-200 mill for a fight why would you settle for anything less?

If this is the fight everyone truly wants then this should easily be Canelo's highest payday.

Legitimizing a fighter blatantly pricing themselves out of a fight now are we Isal.

If this was anyone other than Canelo doing this you would call it for the blatant duck it is.

By which accounts? My account of that fight is that Kovalev was ruined. Broken. It was worse than when Pacquiao beat up Oldsley...errr Old Mosely
