it makes sense that team benevidez is moving on from canelo. it's been a long while that benevidez has wanted to fight for the undisputed. i don't see that happening anytime soon. a fight with bivol would be a good match up. i would favor bivol to win.

He’s not moving on from Canelo. He’s still taking baby steps towards Canelo. He wont ever fight Bivol unless he’s old/inactive etc neither.

Benavidez can say whatever he wants, but he has shown time and again he has handed all control of his career to his father/Lewkowicz/Haymon.

Didn’t you listen to the last round, meathead?
Pay attention, you’re saying the same thing that he said.

    Well done Canelo.

You've outlasted your number 1 contender.

    Well played.

What do you mean baby steps? He is taking on top guys and is the clear number 1 contender in the division. No name East euro fighters are the least of his concerns. Nobody other than hardcores cares about Bivol or Beterbiev. Canelo is his big legacy fight.

He's going to get massacred at 175, not even sure he beats Callum Smith. That being said.... I like his haircut, Looks much better than that messy mop top of a haircut he's had recently.

Callum smith, the same guy who most people think lost to Ryder, and who barely win a single round vs Canelo?

Where still waiting for Callum to come out of his turtle shell, someone wake him up

A more realistic headline would be "Benavidez only plans to dry out to 175 after finishing 168"

He should be challenging for the Cruiserweight Title.

Impressive if the plan is genuine, I hardly see an upside for Benavidez to take that fight.
