Andrade has been too inactive and is also too small for 168. I’m looking forward to Munguia vs Berlanga a lot more.
168 IS fighting. Ryder well earned his shot with win over Jacobs and Parker; Plant instantly began rebuilding against Direll and took on the boogeyman in Benavidez; Mbilli and Morell are up and rising if lacking in big names yet. Alvarez had his share of wins at 168, but there are forces in the division that are shaping its future without him, and the question whether he has enough youth and strength to remind the likes of Benavidez why he is undisputed remains to be seen.
Hilarious if Andrade danced around the sport for 7 years waiting for a payday just to get beat down by Benavidez for a mediocre purse.
I'd be surprised if Andrade actually signs a contract to fight Benavidez. I hope he does but have my doubts.
It won't get made, but if it does.... Andrade doesn't see Round 3. He's been repeatedly stunned by far lesser punchers, most whom have pisspoor finishing skills, which is the only reason you survived. Benavidez's ability to cut off the ring and output, combined with Andrade's lack of power. Means DooDoo is DooDoo outta luck.
I for one, am MASSIVELY pleased if this happens. Finally Andrade gets his big chance. Perhaps too late, but finally, we see how good he is.
