Just dismiss Kessler like that for this bum slayer? He's been what.. professional for nine years now? 24 fights and his best win is still the shitter of the Direll Bros LOL.. a 35 year old who needed two fights to beat Bika.. which is mostly his claim to fame as well.. that's the problem with boxing nowadays everybody is so quick to anoint all these up & comers (while dismissing ppl who have actually proven themselves) without them actually ****ing doing anything.. He's done nothing.. you're going off him dwarfing & blitzing most of his tailor made sub par opposition .. go watch a Kessler highlight & then call me when Benavidez has faced athleticism , offense & fundamentals like that.. Lemieux LOL.. i've got news for you, the only person to legit defeat Kessler in his prime was Calzaghe, Ward hugged & nutted him..

    Benavidez looked good against Lemieux.

But let's not act like Lemieux hasn't been on the slide for a while now. And let's not act like Lemieuxs best days weren't at 160 and Benavidez didn't look like a freaking cruiserweight in there.

Comparing him to a legit 168lber in Kessler based on this fight isn't exactly the smartest thing one could do

I didn't watch last night's fight and assume this influx of Benavidez fantasy threads is just the usual overreaction to a fighter outclassing somebody that was stylistically tailor made for them, as Lemieux was. (never mind that David is, while a mere 33 chronologically, somebody that has brawled face-first since his debut fifteen years ago, so his ring age is more like pushing fifty)

You leave The Viking Warrior's name out your damn mouth. He would UD every version of El Bandera Roja that I've seen, and he can't have up and transformed of a sudden that dramatically.

I would clearly favour prime Kessler

I would favour the version of Kessler who entered the S6 tournament as well

I would put my money on Kessler. A prime Kessler would beat both Benavidez and Canelo at SMW imo

Ehhhhhhhhhh, Kessler was really good. I like Benavidez more but I'd favor Kessler. Kessler only lost to the elite of the elite: Ward, Calzaghe and Froch (really twice to Froch). Benavidez wouldn't beat that trio either.

Kessler is far more proven and only lost to the very elite at the weight. Benavidez looked decent but against a one dimensional Middle who was clearly past prime. Kessler is far better than anyone that Canelo fought at Super Middle and would confortably walk through those same fighters.

Benavidez arguably has the best jab in boxing, its long and hard, and comes like a rattlesnake ready to attack its prey. Hes got some of the quickest hands in the game, and he throws them with bad intent. His size and reach alone will gives most fighters problem, now combine that with all that talent i mentioned and hes a nightmare matchup for anyone.
