Having just watched the first fight. I was surprised to score it 115-114 for Gavril. Two judges had it too wide for DB and one had it too wide for Gavril on the official cards.

    Here are my thoughts.

    > DB lands a lot on the gloves and a lot less of what is included in compubox as scoring, is actual landed shots having looked at compubox stats.
    >Gavril has a very good defence. Gavril did great work to the body and landed more clean shots in the rounds he won.
    >DB won many of his rounds through superior ring general ship, rather than out landing or landing big shots.

    > Showtime commentary and scorecards were a joke. It was clear they were just scoring every early round to DB until they realised, that it was not just going to be a routine early KO victory.
    >DB was only able to impose his will on Gavril in the 11th, his only clear round of the fight. In the 12th he continued the similar attack and was caught on a counter left hook.

So what are your thoughts on the rematch tonight? Clearly DB is a favourite, but are we over looking a very good defensive boxer who could again cause problems?

    Poll included.

    Round 1 Benavidez 10-9
    Round 2 Benavidez 10-9
    Round 3 Benavidez 10-9
    Round 4 Benavidez 10-9
    Round 5 Benavidez 10-9
    Round 6 Gavril 10-9
    Round 7 Benavidez 10-9 Close
    Round 8 Gavril 10-9
    Round 9 Gavril 10-9
    Round 10 Benavidez 10-9 Close
    Round 11 Benavidez 10-9
    Round 12 Gavril 10-8

    Benavidez 115-112

114-113 DB or 114-113 RG are fine as well.

I think David took Gavril lightly, he ups the work rate this time, and scores a late TKO or wins wider on the scorecards.

    My card scoring today was

    DB- GAV
    10-9
    9-10
    9-10
    10-9
    10-9
    9-10

    10-9
    9-10
    9-10
    9-10
    10-9
    10-10

    114-115

I do think the biased showtime commentary in the first 5-6 rounds would have influenced many scoring the fight. A hell of a lot of DBs work in those first 6 rounds landed on arms and gloves, so not scoring shots.

If DB really took it lightly first time or was suffering from a cold, then I can see how he takes the second fighter wider on the cards or a late stoppage. Otherwise its another dog fight.
