David Brophy v Tobias Webb

Saw Brophy last Friday at the Lock Stock show and he looked in terrific shape, I think he will outbox Tobias and think it will be a wide decision his way.

Hopefully after we will see him get a British Eliminator because if Leon McKenzie and John McCallum were worthy then Brophy must be too!

We will know a lot more about Brophy being ready for the Lonsdale after the weekend. One thing for sure is that neither Webb nor Brophy can afford a loss at the minute. I was shocked and disappointed to see McKenzie - McCallum as an eliminator tbh. Especially when the likes of Luke Blackledge hasn't been considered - his 12 rounds with Markham should of been an eliminator definitely. (after all this year he has beaten 2 top 10 ranked British fighters back to back)

(I understand this is actually an eliminator for Blackledge's commonwealth is that right?)

 

yes its an eliminator, brophy is in great nick and looking forwad to a tough fight with tobias, one which were confident of winning

 

i just hope brophy doesnt fall in love with his power.

 

I'm actually thinking this could of been made for the Celtic title couldn't it?

Glad too hear he's in good shape, have a feeling it's last chance saloon for Webb, he's come up short a few times (albeit against lads who have gone onto prove themselves more than capable)

Actually great to see a boxing thread about normal boxing posts, without it being hijacked by weirdos talking nonsense about unrelating topics. I think it will be a good fight, fancy brophy to win by a few rounds on the cards.

And yeah having watched the pair of them a few times each I would agree with a Brophy pts win. The only thing I that makes me slightly apprehensive on this is that Webb is in a much worse position if he loses & he will be well aware of this. That makes him all the more dangerous IMO.

 

Brophy isnt a one punch knock out artist so how would he fall in love with his power?

And the better the opponent is which Tobias is, will make David much more dangerous please beleive me

 

I don't doubt it - that's the way it should be, so i'll be looking forward to seeing how it pans out.

Do you have any inkling as to whether the winners fight with Blackledge will be for the British also? Doubt Luke would need to fight an eliminator as such considering the year he's just had & the ranking system etc.

 

Anything less than a win and Brophy's career is over. Webb is rubbish.
