in fairness nobody has said hes anything other than a top 10 fighter but given the improvement in him and his punching being better than its ever been im personally confident hes capable of winning domestic honours and take it from there

Don't know why everyone gives Brophy so much grief, if he wasn't trained by Billy Nelson would everyone still be so negative.

Just because you might not be a p4p great does that not mean you can't box as a proffesional?

I think the vast majority of British boxing fans with knowledge would class Brophy currently as a top 10 SMW domestically. I personally see him in 7-10th bracket, and think he is better than Markhan and Buglioni (though he is meant to be moving up), he is just has not had the chances of these guys yet. The next year is crucial as he wasn't active enough in his last year or so under Alex Morrison, but MGM are getting him out regular which is nice to see. Webb was a good fight at the right time, and if kept active in right fights I can see Brophy being a top 5-6 SMW in the UK in 12 months time and a possible British champion in or around that time.

i was pretty impressed with him against webb and although i don't think he will be a world champion i do think he will have a great career and pick up the british and commonwealth titles. he seems a nice lad and I've been told he lives the life of a professional and that will help him as he moves up the ladder. would like to see him vs tom doran, lee markham or liam cameron, all of these would be good fights and very winnable for brophy

I agree the three mentioned above would be good opponents and I believe David would beat the three comfy.
David has impressed me very much in this camp and has improved considerably, looking forward to Saturday to try and put it into practice

Very strange tho Billy from what i can see on the back of a commonwealth eliminator i dont understand why A) hes back boxing a meaningless 6-8 rounder and B) the fights at 12st10lb :patsch

  8. Do Brophy's team have no faith in him?

To have only fought someone who is well below British level as your best win after 16 fights is poor. Really needs to step up.

Was the Webb fight an elim for the CW belt then? Any news on if that fight can be made? Good close fight - both similar actually in high work rate.. Blackledge would edge it for me though.

  12. He got blown out by both early. Not sure what beating him says other than Brophy is slightly below British title level which we all knew anyway.

He doesn't seem to be going in a clear and obvious direction.

Rocky and Callum are at world level sausage.

Callum is in a final eliminator for the wbc and easily in the top 10 SMW's in the world.

Rocky Fielding is boxing Rebrasse in his next fight and is highly ranked.

I hear you Billy just think after winning a tough eliminator he should now be fighting at a better stature than against a tough lad in a meaningless fight who is also 10lbs heavier than the SMW Limit

what it tells us is david doesn't punch has hard has callum or rocky, but as im sure your well aware david has other skills that will see him do well in this sport.
He'd gladly fight any of the guys rated above him at the right time, do not be fooled by the lack of stoppages, they will come
