David isn't 10lbs over the weight and very rearly is even when out of training which again isn't very often, one thing about david is hes super fit
I wasn't talking about the manner of his victory, more that Webb is well below British level and should have been an opponent 5 fights ago. Why isn't Brophy fighting eliminators in a clear path upwards? His fights have no rhyme or reason.
how did brophy get on at the weekend? i know he won but was it a good performance? and how was the show overall?
From what I've seen so far looks a solid domestic fighter but nothing more - through no fault of his own he is one of Britain’s most talented divisions. Looks as though he might have been held back a little until the likes of Smith and Fielding move on to better things before he’s fighting for domestic honours. He’s probably sniffing around the top 10 british 168 pounders?
I played with tobias Webb with a broken hand, and boxed Luke blackledge 4months after with it still messed up, I fight jahmain smyle for the English on 2nd April who nos I fight brophy after
I am sure it was a useful "keep busy" fight for David against a guy who was visibly much bigger. TBH I was fairly unmoved by the whole card. It's great to have regular shows with the MGM promotion and others now operating in Scotland to fill the Ricky Burns / Matchroom vacuum but the standard has to be pretty decent. £40 every couple of months isn't going to break the average boxing punter but I'd think twice about going to another MGM show which is all "vs TBA" with a week to go before fight night. I must agree that there doesn't seem to be a lot of planned logic in the path that Brophy's advisors are following.
you vs brophy would be a decent fight and hopefully it can be made for an eliminator or even final eliminator?
