I dub this the David Diaz express. Its going to be a year since his fight with Pacman and he still hasnt have anyone lined up against yet. I say he should fight Rolando Reyes
and more than delahoya:rofl where are all these haters at saying pac need to fight a live opponent. Well that so called live opponent lasted 2 rounds:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl
I've been replaying David Diaz in my head all morning. :think Even without the chin, he still would have been more competitive than ODLH or Hat, because of his mindset. Diaz trained to try and offset his glaring weaknesses and he took the fight seriously. He didn't get frustrated when his typical approach didn't work, backup approach didn't work, tertiary plan didn't work, and every trick in the book he could possibly have ever thought of didn't work. He's a limited fighter, but he knows that he's a limited fighter; he seems to process a lot of techniques he's probably seen others use and, though he can't do them well, at least tries them to make the opponent think more. If I remember right, he switched stances something like three times in the fight and would stick with them the whole rest of the round, trying like hell to make them work. Chicago doesn't have a world-beater Diaz, but it's got a pretty damn good one. I don't think it's just "will over skill" for him, either; he's an underrated cagey fighter.
Arguably beat him? that is all you have to say that JMM is as good as Pac. Pac fought everyone and beat them and he has moved up and beaten Oscar and Ricky easily. JMM is not in that level. James Kinchen gave Hearns a tough fight, but no one ever said he was in the Leonard,Hearns, Duran Hagler class.
Are you joking? David Diaz gets into the HOF because he put up a better fighter than Oscar or Hatton with Pacman? Then Kinchen should go in the HOF because he gave Hearns a tougher fight than Duran.
Rather ironic comment from a guy that has one of the most classless ****s in his avatar. I'm not a huge fan of either fighter, nor do I dislike either fighter. But when something like this happens to your fighter, you have to eat the crow for a few days and then move on. To argue any point defending your fighter right now makes you look like a sour grapes clown.
Word!, WTF r ya'll doing hiding, come out, come out where ever u areeeee...... Real talk though, I'd like to appoiogize to Diaz and his fans....because prior to the fight I said this was gonna be Pac-Diaz 2, but Diaz was clearly the tougher test for Pacman here, props Diaz, I always thought that win over you was underrated
Rewatching this fight right now, David Diaz can be a factor at the top for 135. David Diaz vs. Soto could be war. oh and these commentators suck ass "Manny man have seen the last of his best days"
you know what the funny thing is, a few days before the fight there was an article with an interview from David Diaz and he had a few tips for Hatton, in which Hatton obviously didn't take. David Diaz has a strange recommendation for Ricky Hatton, a boxing brawler: Don't brawl against Manny Pacquiao. "Tell him not to do what most of us do," Diaz says. "Tell him to try and make it into a boxing match." "The first couple of rounds," Diaz says, "I thought I was OK. I figured he'd start to wilt and we'd wear him down. But I realized pretty quickly that I was always trying to catch up. I'd go to the corner, sit down and think, 'OK, he got that round, but I'll get the next one.' And then I'd be on my stool in three minutes, thinking the same thing. "By about the fourth round, I was asking my corner what to do about his speed. I told them I couldn't get my timing against it. He just was never there to hit. I thought I could take his punches, and the plan was to wade in and bring it to him. But it just didn't work that way." The next thing Diaz knew, he was down. "Never saw the punch," he says, "but I guess those are the ones that really get you." "It was the night before Pacquiao and De La Hoya," he says, "and I finally put it in and watched. I couldn't watch it until then. "Then I watched Pacquiao and Oscar and was picking Oscar to win that one. "Then I saw it again. Pacquiao's speed. I'm not gonna lie. It's the best I've ever seen. If he gets past Hatton, and I believe he will, he could be one of the best ever." http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-dwyre-pacquiao-hatton28-2009apr28,1,871749,full.column
That's cause he don't block punches which his face. Someone tried to reason with me that Pacquiao could not stop Hatton quicker than Diaz!
