Do you think Campbell can double the performance against Diaz though? I am of the mindset that he is inconsistent (that ones obvious) and also that he had the fight of his life against Diaz. I think that was a 100% forcused Nate Campbell that we won't see again. What are your thoughts on him?
I agree with this, but often times even the smooth versatile styles that I generally favor have quirks about them that don't appeal to me, for example, I can't stand watching Andre Ward or styles exactly like his for some reason, but that's for another discussion. I like Pac in fights vs. other fighters on his level that drag it into a firefight, but if they don't, it's just the same repetitiveness every round with Pac, which is what I described as boring when Calderon dominates someone, repetitiveness. Some other wrecking ball styles just appeal to me, I'm a big fan of precision, don't really care about style if I get my precision fighter with other fun intangibles. Pac just doesn't appeal to me, it was a struggle to get through the Diaz fight, I didn't watch rounds 7 and 8 on the replay.:yep But I did get a fair bit of detailed information for my own analysis and future fight picking involved with Pac at 135 and higher from the first 6 rounds, I got my positives and my negatives, even in an outright domination because I view a large spectrum when watching replay's.:good Furthermore, look at a fighter like Linares who is a precision fighter apparantley, but I find him sloppy and flawed and can't stand watching his fights, even though I normally latch on 'boxer-puncher' stylists from the get go if they have what I like, it just all depends.
I don't think Campbell can back up Manny though, I think Campbell, while crafty, isn't that crafty against "top" guys... Juan was still young, he couldn't adjust to the dirty fighting style Campbell employed, but I can't see Campbell rough up Pac, nobody has been able to stay on the inside with Pac yet, and I don't believe Campbell will be the guy who can do it.
You think he wouldnt be 100% for a mega-fight against the P4P #1?:yep Seriously guys, Campbell lost focus against guys he didn't care about, when he was put in a spot in his career, he routinely performed well. Campbell's a victim of arrogance, he knows he's got elite ability and can tool a lot of fighters and is also sometimes a headcase. Of course we'll see that Campbell if he fought Pac. Though... I could see Campbell fighting lesser against Guzman and seriously paying for it.
Campbell's a lot stronger, very accurate, very quick and very seasoned and skilled, there is no reason to think he can't back Pac up with his routine style unless you feel Pac will crack his chin. Juan's strong, very crafty, just lacking power. Pac's smaller and not as strong, I feel Pac would be easier for Campbell than Juan, because I feel Pac is breakable at 135 against guys of this level in this division.
This has nothing to do with a bout at 135 between these guys, nothing. And if you saw the bouts, you'd know why Campbell was knocked out.
If Valero can only be masured by his current record, then Pacquiao beats him. Its difficult with Valero since he has not proven himself against a real threat.
I agree with you here and i think that thats what makes the fight so interesting....the "unknown" factor that is involved.
