He literally has heart on his trunks. Seen Jaurez a few times he has heart but glassy chin.But he always gets up and fights harder.

 

Round 1: 10-9 Gill

Gill looks at least one weight class bigger after rehydrating in the last 30 hours. He looks huge here. Gill jabbing to the head and to the body, Juarez is stalking. Gill looks a bit nervous to be honest. Juarez throwing a couple of big single shots but missing. Gill landing a nice right counter, Juarez is stunned for a second but regroups and stalking forward.

Juarez rocked by a left hook early but he comes back with a few body shots but missed the majority. He's telegraphing all of his shots and Gill is moving away, slipping and riding with Juarez wild shots. Another left hook lands for Gill. Juarez starts to throw some heat and he lands a left hook on his own, the best shot he landed so far. Gill doing a good job giving Juarez zero rythm and creating some nice angles with his footwork. Can not remember the last time i saw Gill looking that sharp and confident. Juarez looking a lot better than in his last two fights to be fair. Gill is caught with a wide left hook right at the bell but takes it well.

 

Gill wouldn't look out of place in an episode of the 70's show Starsky And Hutch.. the hair.
I like it.

Errr nice piece of match making this for Gill, he is the bigger man, longer arms, a slower opponent who isn't technically gifted.

So Gill doing what is expect here and just boxing, winning the first couple comfortably and not in any sort danger.

Gill doesn't have power to get Jaurez attention he is in a world of hurt later on.

 

It’s going to be another one of those nights. Commentary pathetic again, Juarez landed plenty of good shots in the 2nd round including a nice lead left hook - commentators didn’t mention one thing of it. Macklin must have been told off for liking away fighters last week.

Juarez bringing the typical Mexican style. He really does. Gill sitting a bit more on his punches this round. Juarez still stalking and bringing the heat but he barely lands a shot. I really think if Juarez would be a bit bigger and more heavy handed Gill would be in some trouble to do what he does here. But Gill almost the only guy in here who lands clean. Juarez wants to clinch up and works in the clinch with some sort of "dirty boxing", the ref splits them and the round ends with Gill jabbing.

 

That's going to be the problem when he goes up a level or levels.. he just doesn't have enough power.
