Yeah difference is though for someone like Groves people put it down to the punching power and loading up on shots (see Froch I) as the reason, for Kelly I think you have to put it down to too much wasted movement.

Yeah got lovely skills. But that needless bouncing around knackers fighters out. Loved his trainers simple advice for him to put pressure on when Kelly wanted a break.

So Conor Benn would love to see Ava fight for a world title next. I bet he would ! He certainly never called for the fight.

Kelly used up so much energy in round 4 for example, started moving all over the shop, twisting and firing out jabs when it was clear Avanesyan was starting to find a bit of success.

It does sound like he's tight at the weight as well but he turns into David Price once he's under pressure with his stamina. When he can work at his own pace in the middle he's fine.

Maybe time for him to move up in weight as he's a huge WW.

Eddie hearn has said Kelly lost to an elite welterweight tonight, and the sky boys matchroom FC nod their heads yea Josh lost but Ava is elite. Beat of lemont Peterson and good wins against Kerman for the same euro belt as tonight. He's not Terrance Crawford Edward ffs

Ava is euro level and would get smashed at worlds.

If Kelly won he would have called him out.

Plus Booth was pushing for this fight. If it was bad for Kelly now, can only imagine what would have happened if it took place 2 years ago.

If you surpass British level then European is the next step up and that is what Ava is.

Booth also proclaimed that Kelly was ready for Brook and Khan. Absolutely no chance on that showing. Both are past it but both have way more durability and more power than Kelly. Khan toughed it out against Maidana ffs. Kelly needs to go back down to domestic, pick up some wins and try again.

It's ridiculous. This is a fighter who is heralded as a special talent yet a European title fight after 12 fights is too soon? When exactly would Kelly be ready for a fight like this if it isn't now?

That's not forgetting that it's just one loss. If anything it's a lesson learnt and he can try and improve. Really sick of people reacting to one defeat like its the end of a career.

Losing is the name of the game.
