Exactly my point. Benn should earn the fight the hard way. He isn't proven to be on the level of Avenasyan yet.

The mad thing is, Nigel was/is my favourite boxer, I was and still am a huge fan and went to many of his fights.

    I can't stand his son.

Strange really, I feel nothing when I watch Conor fight, maybe it's the Matchroom crap, maybe they put me off him with all the backside kissing, a lot like Campbell Hatton, I can't stand him either.

Benn should take the Avanesyan fight the time he decides to get a ball transplant, what's up with him calling out shot to death guys.

Spence is still undisputed in that regard. As long as the fans don't fall asleep, is all good.

Benn has done two things that turn me off British fighters

    1) he's tried bypassing the Lonsdale route

    2) he's playing the role of unproven a-side

    So no, not a fan.

I want to see Avanesyan vs. Ugas. I think Avanesyan has a winning chance.

Taylor overmatched, but he was ranked as #3 by the EBU, oddly enough. Jordy Weiss who has the EU EBU title and Conor Benn, were the two ranked above Taylor, but both declined the offer to fight Avanesyan, preferring to wait until Avanesyan gets a world title shot and vacates his EBU title.

Avanesyan has said though that he prefers to keep defending his European title until he gets a world title shot. Unfortunately, that means he won't beat anyone who gives him more recognition and a chance to fight for example Ugas. He won't become mandatory either, before he fights someone better than European B/C-level fighters like Taylor. WBC could rank the European champion as their mandatory, but he would need to beat either Ortiz, Thurman or Danny Garcia to become mandatory, given the current WBC rankings In the US there is a lot of talet that could use Avanesyan as a gate keeper, but I doubt boxers like Ennis, Abdukakhorov (ranked #1 by the IBF) or even Ortiz Jr wants anything to do with him. Unless it is an eliminator fight.

A fight that makes sense though for both men, and could give Avanesyan the chance he wants with Ugas, is a rematch with Kavaliauskas. Either man who wins would be highly ranked, and a good performance by Avanesyan could even make him get a shot against Crawford (or Porter). But the fight would have to be in the US, on a highly promoted event so the casuals would see Avanesyan's power, speed and skills. He has improved a lot over the last 3-4 years or so. Based on the eye test, he is no worse than the Kavaliauskas, Khan or Brook that fought Crawford recently, and I also think he could beat Ugas, Porter and Kavaliauskas. And talents like Ennis and Abdukakhorov. Spence I don't know, but Spence and Thurman ain't what they were. Ortiz Jr (probably), Crawford and perhaps Spence are currently the only welters I would say are on a higher elite level. Below those two or three Avanesyan on a good day could give most welters a problem.
