I know, that is the soundbite Booth likes to spout off and people on here actually believe it. If they took off their rose tinted glasses they would realise that it is in fact the opposite, and is **** for boxing.

Yeah but for the money and a title shot opportunity, a fighter of his callibre wouldn't have to think twice... You can compare him a little bit to Chuck Wepner...

In the cruisers he wasn't making money (like all the cruisers), he was hungry so he had to make a statement, and he had nothing to lose.
But now he has a belt, it is as if he lost his appetite for competition but gained one for money...

This type of inactivity has been a staple of Haye's career for over two years now. As as Haye fan, the last two years have been incredibly frustrating and it's a real shame to see someone waste their prime years on bull**** instead of fighting. It'll be another 3 to 4 months before Haye either announces a fight with someone of Audley's calibur or announces he's making another mandatory title defense, this time against Chagev.

While I don't know that Haye's actually "afraid" of the Klitschko's I believe the heavyweight version of Haye to be more businessman than fighter and it's painfully obvious he wants to make as much money as possible while doing as little as he can to earn it. I believe Haye's got the tools to beat both Klitschko's but I don't believe he'll ever fight either one of them as both fights pose to much risk.

This is not the same Hayemaker we knew in the Cruiserweight ranks. Different man, different fighter.

    Cruiserweight: No money division
    Heavyweight: Wealthy division

    I'm not surprised :D

I think that the boxing organisations must oblige the belt holders for at least 3 defenses a year . Haye will spent 2010 with only two fights ? :-(

It would be nice to know who he is going to fight even if its Audley.I honestly thought it would be one of the brothers this time but it seems not.

It would be nice to hear who he is in discussion with. We are being drip fed **** and I guess only time will tell to see who he picks. If it is Adamek then great, that is a credible fight which I have no issue with. I doubt Harrison gets the nod, although it would be nice to see that jerk knocked flat on his ass. That fight would be a dissapointment if it comes off. We must remember that VITLAY was considering Roman Greenberg at one stage who is about as credible as Audrey. I'm not too bothered if he doesn't fight a Klitschko next as long as he fights one down the line.

The sad difference is that Vitali is forced to consider garbage opposition for the lack of fighters who are willing to take the risk to fight him. Haye, Valuev, Adamek. They were either "busy", "not ready", "had other plans" or wanted $4 million Dollars (Valuev).

Haye on the other hand seems to be considering garbage opponents such as Rahman, Toney or Harrison not because more dangerous opponents are not available but because Haye appears to PREFER these lower risk opponents now that he has a belt to lose.
