David Haye: "About the same size as George Foreman"

    I heard this comment recently, that David Haye is only half an inch shorter than Foreman and Foreman was only 220lb in the Ali fight

    Do you think Haye is about the same size as prime Foreman?

    Yes, he's almost the same size, maybe even longer. He's not as tough or as powerful or a big when compared to his contemporaries (which is the big thing).

    This is strange, I think of foreman as this huge guy where haye is a small heavy, yet they are basically the same size.

    David Haye is not that big of heavyweight these days but put him back in the 70s he would have been a big heavyweight.

    Why would a HW cut weight before a fight? Do you realize how dumb that sounds?

    Heavyweights in the old days used to do it belive it or not, not sure if Foreman was one of them but they did used to do it

    Foreman has more bone density than Haye, and is naturally much stronger.

    No they didn't. Do you think those guys were stupid? Cutting weight offers no benefit whatsoever in a weight class that has no weight limit, and can actually be detrimental to your performance, why would they cut weight?

    Despite the weight being relatively close, Foreman was bulkier and more broad.

    Foreman was a natural 220 when he was in shape... the difference is, Haye has to bulk up to get to 220. Close thread
