David Haye against the ATG's. Just how many would he beat?

Discussion in 'British Boxing Forum' started by Duffy, May 11, 2012.

  1. In contrast to your name, you are certainly NOT on the money...

Valuev was a heavily protected fighter who was given easy fights to get him close to the 49-0. If it hadn't been for Chagev, a fighter Bruno would have beaten rather easily in my opinion, he would have done it.

Also, people seriously need to re-watch the Valuev vs Haye fight. It was an EASY night for Haye and one of the best tactical performances by a British boxer in years. The fact that some people still dispute this is another case of people hanging on every word TV pundits say.

    Max Baer would demolish Haye.

Haye beats Willard with ease, he'd stay away from the jab and attack in bursts, taking an easy decision....over 12.

Haye knocks out Fitz, Corbett and Jeffries.

  4. I think any HW with solid fundamentals and a decent beard would either be favoured or 50-50 against Haye.

Aside from a heavy right hand, what does he have?

His jab is average, his footwork and balance is gash and his defence porous.

Waving your arms about and moving your head whilst miles out of range isn't good defence.

Both Ruiz and Mormeck tagged him repeatedly with jabs and right hands, the performance against Ruiz in particular was sloppy.

The less said about his non performance against Wlad, the better. Mosley tried harder against Pacquiao for **** sake.

He'd be a 3rd tier HW in the 1990s against guys like Ribalta, firmly behind tier 2 guys like Morrison, Bruno and the underrated Mercer (the dirty *******).

Either that or he'd have stayed at cruiser fighting the likes of De Leon, Warring and Nelson. He might fare well in that kinda company.

  5. Also, comparing the Bruno performance against Lewis to ****ing Valuev is shocking.

On that form Frank would have beheaded SNV. And practically anyone else from 2000 onwards.

Class performance until Lewis found the punches.

Funny how Haye is getting touted as a great again. I don't think he's even top 5 in the world at the moment.

He's at least the second best HW at the moment head to head.

    Lets be honest...

Haye would fair better in the 1970's, facing guys pretty much more his size.

In my opinion Haye does not enjoy fighting guys, 3 stone heavier than him on average. He has the ability to, but he's not as comfortable as Mike Tyson or Evander Holyfield in the ability to fight and pressure bigger guys.

I think Haye would enjoy a tear up with Frazier, Norton, Shavers, Lyle.

I think he would beat Shavers.

And the rest is a toss up!

    Wars!!!

Rocky Marciano..? Lets face it, Marciano never beat anybody who could hit as hard and with the speed of the Hayemaker.

Joe Louis was ****ed, and Ezzard Charles did not have heavyweight power, and Walcott dominated and beat the **** out of Marciano before he was tagged, Archie Moore was another old man who beat up on Marciano before he was overwhelmed aswell! And he was not a natural Heavyweight! And certainly not a heavyweight by today's standards.

David Haye would be considered a big guy during the 70's, just like Ken Norton was...

And Haye would also be considered a big guy in the 1940's/1950's...

"I think David Haye beats Marciano via TKO"...

Stylistically i think Marciano, a smaller man who has slower hand speed, who has to come forward..? Is in serious trouble up against David Haye.

You only have to look at his heavyweight career, anybody close to his size and weight in dimensions....

    "He simply destroys"...

    Monte Barrett

    John Ruiz

    Derek Chisorsa

    All gone....
