David Haye and Bruce Lee are classic examples of weight training NOT slowing you down

Towards the end of his life Lee became obsessed with losing weight as he felt his muscularity was slowing him down.

    and it was.

the point isnt that weights are bad....the point is that the body building rountine he followed added too much mass and made him slower in his own opinion.

    he lifted from 1965 - 1970.

(1973)...if he seemed fast in those movies it wasnt because of lifting weights.

Lee appeared in the 1964 [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_Beach_International_Karate_Championships"]Long Beach International Karate Championships[/ame]

about the only thing he did while lifting was train joe lewis for a year (along with some others who helped train joe lewis like SRR) and played kato in the green hornet.

Im not positive but im pretty sure this was taken when he was at or around 165 lbs

what? 8 rep routines arnt bad?

if some one is going to make a thread saying oooooo bruce lee was sooo fast and he lifted weights.......people are going to look at his weight routines and say oooooooooooooo **** 3 sets with 8-12 rep routines are what bruce lee did so im going to do that tooo and be super fast......

its a **** thread....maybe hayes routine might be something to look at but bruce lee is a bad example in more ways then 1.

and hayes trainig isnt too bad.....lots of high rep circut training and lots of low rep strength training.

agree with this,Manny also throws a lot of punches, not only one,all I got from Bruce is one punch and it doesnt look that impressive either(compared with fighters).

    Using

    1. Insanely gifted, or intensely trained athletes

    2. Genetic freaks

To base these kind of assumptions off of is never a good thing.
