I honestly don't see it. Jones rarely used the jab and was more prone to jump in with the right hand to set up other shots, or later in his career, jump in with the right and then get right back out to pot shot again. I see Haye actually using the jab to set up the right and then he cleans up with the left hook or uppercut in the classical style.

I'd bet quite a bit on Haye to be honest. He's waaay bigger than Jones, waaay more power.

Jones managed to juice up to 193, Haye is a natural 230 with no excess weight. Big difference.

It's not exactly a power punch. Roy showed a brilliant jab against Pazienza and even against Ruiz.

the closest currently we have to mimicking jones style is mundine.

i know not many have watched mundine in america if any, but he even copies the mannerisms and nodding head/feet stance and lead rights and because he is very fast of hand and foot , it does very closely resemble the jones style.

I have not seen Haye fight.

But yeah, Mundine is not as good of course, but style wise is a carbon copy of Roy Jones Jr.

Right. Jones was known for NOT throwing a jab.

I see Mundine was fighting Riquelme. Big step up for him.
