Yeah I'd say so. Mac was overmatched, but he was still a WBO title holder and I had him about 5th or 6th in the division, by some people's estimates number 2. David Banks wasn't even top 25, I'd never heard of him, he lost to Peter Manfredo Jr.
True... I guess I was looking at it more that both Banks and Mac were gonna get KO'd, just what round.
There was a nice one on the undercard of Bute-Joppy. Renan St-Juste knocked out Mohammad Said with a left hook I beleive while he was trapped in a corner and Said was throwing a flurry. It was pretty nice. Like Gatti did a while ago. I wish I could find a video or a gif of that.
True and nor does Mirandas then. Because I don't know how many people have only seen the GIF, but if they watched the actual fight then they would know that Banks actually beats the count (just) and it is waved off with him on his feet, stumbling about.
It wasn't early, he was gone. As you know part of the test a ref does is to ask the fighter to raise his hands and he checks his arms are resistant and his eyes clear. Mac was swaying and lifted his hands to just above his waist but the arms were limp and he himself has said it was the correct stoppage. If Haye had been waved back in to land another big right hand on a guy who would have been caught even more flush and already in that state, Mac could have been seriously hurt.
Strike, stop. That **** was a KO to the fullest cuz even though he made it to his feet he was prepared to fall again (w/o the assistance of a Miranda punch or the ropes/ref).
Who was the ref for the Haye/Mac fight? He has been around for yrs but I thought he was to old and frail to be officialing this one
atsch Yea, maybe you need to watch the fight. From the time he hit the ropes until he was on his feet was 12 seconds. And when he did finally get up it took two people to hold him and get him seated. He would have fallen back down if there was no help around him.
It was a TKO stoppage and not a clean count-out KO... The best candidate is still Miranda KOs Banks but Guerrero KOs Litzau was a good one as well and the Solis KOs Rajkai was a biggie as well...
My vote goes for Emanuel Nwodo's KO of Ezra Sellers. http://us.lrd.yahoo.com/_ylt=At9pRI...o.com/up/sports?ch=2567510&cl=6060153&lang=en
