If it's all about marketing...Toney is a dream. Many have already commented that the press and buildup for this could be insane.

As far as Haye not looking good...he can't expect the fans to be on his nuts if he's just going to look for the HW version of his last opponent.

Wow a post with nothing of substance, not surprising coming from you.

It doesn't matter who Haye beat at CW, what has he done at HW? Nothing, not a damn thing. Haye needs to fight at HW soon and against someone with a pulse, not a broken Rahmen who was embarassed by a way pass due Toney.

Haye only really cares about getting a fight with Wlad, its pretty obvious. I'm not sure whether he's bothered about hardcore fans thinking he has legitimate wins or not. He just wants to get that wave of hype going, and lets face it that isn't hard to do given the knee jerk reactions we see.

Therefore he wants to look as good as possible, while getting a ranking. There are much easier ways of doing it than fighting a guy like James Toney, who win or lose is going to make it difficult to look good.

Exactly, he has done nothing so your criticism is premature.

I never criticized him as a HW, so what are you talking about? Running his mouth off about how great he is but fighting no one at HW, compounded by the rumors of him trying to fight Rahman,a guy coming off a No Contest which he was starting to lose in a dominant fashion, is making Haye look like a joke.

Okay I take on board what you say but I just think people are too quick to jump on fighters for minor indiscretions on here. Just wait until Haye has at least officially announced his opponent & then criticise.

It's kinda insane he gets so much stick before even announcing an opponent. He talks a lot and has to back it up, but jesus lets just be patient for a while.

If Haye were to fight James Toney that would be tremendous......of course it would be in a loosing effort for the young British HW, but it would show that he has some balls and is willing to step up to prove his worth. Fighting Rock is a decent test but James pretty much humiliated him....so there is nothing in terms fo logic that support Hayes Stance in saying Rock is a runner for one of his next fights at HW. They know JT wouldn't turn down the fight with Haye and I think that is why Haye wants no parts of that potential match up.

Actually Tony did ALOT better than i had expected. YES...Wald won as he should have but that performance wasn't anything that Wald should have be excited about. he had a lackluster preformance against a guy who 7 yrs ago wouldnt have lasted 2 rounds with that version of Wald.

Honestly though........Pav beat some major players in his division.....Yet the "HYPE" you say is unwarranted for Kelly. Tell me! B/c Haye beat some decent fighters like Mormeck....maccca ect in a very weak Cursier weight division that his "HYPE" is warranted? :huh Where is the logic in that. Miranda and Taylor are togher foes Pound for pound that anyone campaining at cursier weight.

    That's part of the problem...

He said a gang of sh*t about how weak the division is, and what he's going to do about it, and that he'll fight in October, and that'll be a top ten guy.

So far we learn...he's fighting in November. He doesn't have an opponent. He wanted Rahman, but not the guy who beat him and people consider an actual challenge, in James Toney.

Telling the world you are taking over this weak division, and then saying...um, I told the world top 10 opponent in October...but I really wanted Hasim Rahman in November...isn't really the way to provoke fear and respect in the division.

Lets also not ignore the fact that for his last CW fight, instead of fighting his #1 contender in Cunningham, he went and got Macca.

I do believe Haye has the goods to be a champion at HW.....but he needs to beat someone in this division to say he can handle the power. we know he has the skills....afterall....the HW's are not working with a lot of skill. Most of the big men rely on their size and power to get a win. Skills are on the back burner for most.

Right! Not to say I wouldn't favor Haye in that fight....but you honestly just don't know. Cunningham is a live dog. He is right up there with Haye at Cursierweight IMO.

I'm not hyping Haye either though, I just don't like seeing people get stuck into him for no reason. He's the cruiserweight champ moving up & if he can inject some life into the division them I'm all for it. Just wait & see who he announces as his opponent before you criticise.
