This guy could have been the next big thing, had he had more heart in the game and taken himself to MGM to fight.

I kind of agree. It's a shame the cw div is such a threadbare and meaningless division because that's his natural weight. He's just too small to be a legitimate threat to the likes of Klinchko imo.

weight was never an issue, fighters like prime muhammad ali only weighed about 210lbs and he'd beat them.

haye took out fighters like nikolai valuev, MASSIVE weight difference, harrison, ruiz, etc.

It was his heart, he didn't have the heart of the Klitshcko brothers or to even be great, mike tyson even said haye should stick in longer

Very true, he's not a great technician, he lives off his natural talent.

Haye clearly only fights for the money and perhaps the fame. He's a part time boxer based on his activity level.

It's a real shame as he's the most naturally gifted heavyweight Britain has had since Lewis, he could have really built a decent resume had he taken his career seriously.

Valuev and Harrison are donkeys, though. Klinchko just kept him at the end of his jab and took no chances, there wasn't much he could do to get inside that. Ali was around at a time of very few super heavyweights, of course and he is a special case anyway.

I agree that Haye has been wasting his talent, needs to be more active but he seems more interested in being a celebrity than an elite boxer these days.

    he's a magician - an illusionist.

Like any great showman the key is misdirection. He used conferences and media calls to sell himself as something he was not and the masses (his audience) lapped it up and made Haye a very very very very rich man.

Basically Haye got rich taking advantage of dumb, uneducated foolish beer drinking chavs who aren't actually that knowledgeable about the sport. He took their welfare money.

yet their superior strength didn't mean much, there are plenty of heavies from the 1960s and 70s that could beat the K brothers. liston, holmes, etc.
