The signs are improving for a world heavyweight title unification fight between

after the WBA champion and his manager, Adam Booth, met their US partners in Las Vegas this weekend.

"If it happens, it will happen very quickly," Booth said last night. "Bernd Bonte [Klitschko's promoter] said he would ring me after the 12th, so here we are."

Booth and Haye spoke yesterday with executives from HBO and Golden Boy Promotions, with whom they have a promotional deal. Haye was upbeat. "It's definitely going in the right direction," he said.
"Fingers crossed, we'll know something pretty soon. From our side, we're raring to go. I'm positive the fight will happen. As I've said before, I will retire next year, so this fight has to happen. It's a fight the world wants. It's the only fight the Klitschkos can have to cement their legacy.
"Where? Wherever it makes the most money. That's what

that had HBO and Golden Boy raving about the young man's potential as a major star in the United States. They are making similar noises about Haye.

"Watching Amir here tonight definitely gave me a real buzz," Haye said. "I want some of this. I'd love to come out here and fight in a great arena and give everyone value for money. The talks have been very positive. I'm confident it's going to happen. If Wladimir is as confident as I am, then it will happen.

"Wladimir [the WBO and IBF champion] has got no legacy. His brother [Vitali, who holds the WBC belt] can at least say he fought Lennox Lewis. And Wladimir hasn't had even one of those fights. The only opponent he can fight for his legacy is me.

"I'm not sure if my deadline to retire [on his 31st birthday, 13 October 2011] has put pressure on him or not. Everyone's known it since I turned professional, so it's not something I've just sprung on everybody. It's down to them to make it happen."

The odds are it will be in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand, which has boxing slots in April and May. Sky would prefer to have it in London for primetime UK viewing but sources say it would accept a Las Vegas fight if the sums add up for all parties. With pay-per-view revenue at both ends, plus a casino site fee and the likelihood of a sell-out, the case for having it at the MGM in April is a strong one.

What are your thoughts on this? Will it happen or is Haye just talking again?

He does want it,the klitschko are smart, they make it look like they want it and haye does not.

but in fact i think haye wants it more than wlad does.

Haye seems to have had more ambition through out his career, already being 2 weight world champion and already unifying one division already.

Ide love it to be HBO in US for wlad, then wembley hbo/sky for Vitali.

i think the only problems are:

• Suareland and rival german tv company and klitschkos problems with dealing with saureland while haye has 1 fight option held over him still.

• The home country revenues, seems like klitschko cant/wont get more elsewhere to equal amount haye would give to them.

• They want his share, and wont keep all of their own and allow haye to keep all of his own revenue for UK.
HOW CAN THIS GET SORTED:

• they agree a split that allows both to recieve the same amount from each other.
• they agree to both keep all of own money for own revenues.
• the agree that who ever wins get what they wanted in this part of the contract:
IE:

• IF Haye wins- keeps all his own uk ppv money, with klitschko keeping all thiers too.
• IF wlad/vitali win they take half of Hayes split in uk revenue.
There should be no problems with both parties agreeing to this, both sides are certain of victory,so it should not matter about not winning and not getting their amount they are after.

i just hope atleast one side has thought of the above point to allow the fight to get made.

Very good point. I agree with that. If it does happen we will see how that plays out. The only thing I disagree with in your post, I think Wald wants it more than Haye. Just my thoughts there on that last one.

Peace

Not sure if this is the same article, but I found this on another forum.. Keep in mind, it has a reference to an apparent article in The Sun, to take that for what its worth.

David Haye Says A Fight Between He And Wladimir Klitschko “Is Looking Likely For Next March In Las Vegas”
By James Slater -

No sooner does world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko pull out of his scheduled defence against Dereck Chisora, are we inundated with speculation about a great many things. Right now, there are on the net articles debating whether or not Wladimir’s injury claims are genuine, there are articles suggesting “Dr. Steel Hammer” got cold feet over the Chisora fight when he realised that “Del Boy” was no pushover, and there are articles suggesting that Wladimir is already looking towards fighting arch-rival David Haye in his next fight..

And though the unbeaten Chisora and his promoter are adamant a Klitschko-Haye fight will have to wait because the match-up that was set for tomorrow night will be rescheduled (Chisora says he will take no step aside money), Haye himself has given an interview in which he says he expects to meet Wladimir next March in Las Vegas.

For the longest time, Haye and Klitschko have been unable to reach a deal that satisfies both sides. But now, with the Chisora fight off, many people think the two sides will sit down (or may have already done so) and thrash out a deal. Haye told today’s issue of The Sun newspaper that he expects the fight next spring - and Haye is trying his best to get the fight on at Wembley Stadium in London. However, the WBA champ feels the probable venue will be somewhere in Vegas.

“I will move heaven and earth trying to get the bout with Klitschko staged in England,” Haye said. Wembley would be the ideal place for such a big fight, but of course, there is the weather to contend with. It’s looking likely for next March in Las Vegas, though maybe we could push it back six weeks because of the weather. It’s so unpredictable.”

Hang on a minute! How far have Haye-Klitschko talks gone already? Have the two sides actually sat down and come as close as they have in a long time to reaching a deal? It sure sounds like it, what with Haye suggesting “it looks like next March in Las Vegas.” Surely a deal must be imminent if Haye is arguing about the fight’s venue?

But IF Haye’s people and Klitschko’s people have sat down and talked about the fight we all want to see, where will this leave Chisora? What will the legal implications be if Wladimir decides he wants to fight Haye next March and chooses to forget about the man who has a valid, signed contract for a fight with him? Or is Wladimir planning to take the rescheduled fight with Chisora quite quickly and then face Haye shortly afterwards? Two fights is a maximum of 21 weeks? That would be some schedule for Wladimir, or for any other heavyweight these days.

But whatever happens with Chisora, Haye is confident he will face Wladimir next spring - and then fight WBC boss Vitali after that!

“I want Wlad’s brother Vitali before I retire next November as well,” Haye said. “When I beat Wlad, and take his IBF and WBO _title_s, it will be a long step down the road to unifying the division. I can finish it off by taking Vitali’s WBC _title_.”

So, does Haye know something we do not, and have advanced talks for the fights between he and the Klitschko’s begun? The timing is strange if this is the case, for only last month the respective managers of the two fighters were still at loggerheads over the T.V money. Are we now supposed to believe a deal has been reached when all looked lost so recently?

Has Haye agreed to a Klitschko contract that demands that if he beats Wladimir he faces him in an immediate rematch and then, after that, he fights Vitali? Such demands have in the past been referred to by Haye as conditions of a “slave” contract. What’s changed now?

If Haye is seriously retiring next fall, he better get with the big fights fast. Why the heck did he waste time fighting Audley when he could have already fought Wlad?:huh

I can't help but laugh every time I read of his looming retirement date.

The guy will keep fighting well past his 31st birthday, assuming there is still big money fights out there for him. That you can bet on.

Anyone who thinks Haye was interested in the Klits from the moment he got "injured" and pulled out up to now is deluded.

Many thought Haye will fight a Klit, after he has milked the belt for all it's worth, which is exactly what we are seeing. The British public are fed up of Haye now and it seems he's realised that the time has come to cash out. Although it wouldn't surprise me if he agrees to the fight and signs but hads a tune up fight before it and one more pay day before his inevitable loss.
