Although i think haye started his career training to look good, nowh ei s that big he should stay at heavy. The division is wide open and there is more money to be made...
I'd rather he stayed at Cruiser, but I can appreciate that the weight-draining is killing him. For his own health there may be no better option than heavyweight...
He is going to suprise a lot of people, mark my words The questions over his chin remain, but I expect him to benefit from the move up just like Cotto He's going to be so much quicker than everybody else, he'll land punches for fun He can beat them all, except maybe Wlad **** it, he'll beat Wlad
i like haye a lot, but i see him losing to wlad, chagaev, possibly valuev, virchis, povetkin, possibly eddie chambers and peter. think he could better sultan and maskaev.
The point is that Haye was knocked out & knocked down vs. much smaller fighters.................. As far as Wlad having a **** chin, if it's so bad why hasn't he been being KO'd, as in not beat the count? Many here pick every opponent to KO him.
I think Sultan is too much for Haye but it would be a close call. His best shot at a title is against Maskaev at the moment due to his speed, power & Oleg's lack of chin.
His corner threw in the towel i belive, which is different from getting KO'd. He also took a knee against Mormeck if you saw it. However, he does have a dodgy chin it could however be the due to draining 20-30lbs to make cruiser. So nether Wlad or Haye have ever failed to beat the count. What I was saying was as a guy who is such a big Wlad fan should try to limit his comments on chins as Wlad has no excuse's about the chin. Haye does. We will have to wait and see. He might have a crap chin at HW.
great logic. lets just forget about his lower punch resistance whilst weight drained. haye can't make cruiserweight without severly handicapping himself, and if he continues to try making the weight he most certainly will get knocked out. moving upto hw is his only option. don't know how successful he'll be but it will make great viewing
I say Heavyweight.. But if Carl Thompson and Mormeck can have him trippin.. Half the division will have him taking trips to a darker place in almost every outing.. He is like a Heavyweight Thomas Hearns.. Kill or be killed.. Exciting but very vulnerable... He and Audley would make for good viewing.
We will see a much better Haye at Heavy..He would be much more comfortable, have more energy, power and speed than at Cruiser. It's only a matter of time. Cheers
I can't understand why the guy is fighting at CW forever and then all of a sudden he is too big for the division. Last time I checked he fought at HW at 217lbs, which is small for a HW and not far from the CW limit. Truth is, Haye wants to move to HW, but I'm sure he will not pass on the chance of making big money and fame at CW if the fight is right, specially now that he is the champ.
He IS a heavy now; there's no option. His chin isn't that bad as people make out through Boxrec analysis. Anyone who's seen the Thompson fight knows that an inexperienced Haye exhuasted himself against a wiley veteran and paid the price. He learnt from that and he's a much improved, pretty complete, fighter. He's going to make noise at heavy, just as long as he can get the fights. He's not ready for Wlad yet, but I think he will be one day.
I wouldnt call it "Boxrec Analysis":nono Lolenga Mock who was a blown up Super Middle had him on ***** street very badly.Admittedly it was a temple shot.He took several unanswered blows against Thompson before he was KO`ed primarily though exhaustion.Either way his chin isnt bone china but its not that sound either.David just needs to keep his left up get his defense tighter and make the move to heavy. He grew out of cruiser some time ago.
