Valuev is only big, he is slow, flat footed and unskilled. He already lost to guys smaller and slower than Haye.
I picked Haye to win and thought he would put a much better performance than that.

NO. Had he came to fight and knocked Valuev out, I'd be the first to say YES, I don't like his foul mouth but he'd earn the praise this way, but to run around the giant for 12 round in the safety first mode? Hey Holyfield did it already with 46 so what's the big deal? This is boxing not running... I thought you have to beat the champion decisively to get a decision win, or you have to knock him out... Haye is the first out there bitching about the Klitschkos how boring they are, but this fight was 10 times more boring then the most boring Klitschko fight... Give me a break...

Haye did have the right defensive game plan... "MOVE" as Valuev is slow and if you keep turning him, he cant get set to punch... it was the offensive output... it was non exsistant IMO. He did just enough to win...and I mean JUST enough. That fight could have easily gone the other way (if DK wanted it to):hey

Over hear in england Valuev was the slight favourite. I won 200 pound on Haye.

To those people crying about his performance. Have you ever stood in front of a giant with a one hand broken and had to fight???

    I rest my case:rofl

Yes it is a clear indicator. Valuev doesn't even hit very hard, he ran to protect his chin, not because Valuev is tall or because he has a lot of body hair. He will run even harder when faced with someone who isn't slower than **** flowing uphill, and who actually has KO power.

After brutally stopping two heavy weights... you mean Bonin And Barrett? Bonin is a bum basically, and Barrett was knocked down by other fighters as well. No big deal. I can show you early Klitschko fights against bums if you want to see something spectacular?

    **** off, soft ****.

That's not boxing. If you box you don't run, you move. And while doing so you throw punches. Haye ran, and potshotted one or two combinations a round. He didn't jab, he did not counter. He just ran.

    4. dicipline to fight to a stratergy providing its working yes
    5. can he unify the titles undecided but let me tell you hell give it one hell of a go

showed heart and a brain lastnight . peaple will say he ran all fight he only did what u got to o beat aman with such height and weight advatages , he avoided clinches (which are stamina sapping) to bet the klits he will have to devise a new plan but im sure he and his team can do it

so let me get this straight RDJ, you expeect a 6'3 220 former cruiserweight who was entire foot shorter and 100 lbs lighter than his opponent, to run in guns blazing adandoning any type of defense?? stop watching kimbo slice videos and watch boxing a little more.

whether it was monte barrett his grandfather or his uncle, he was still a HW. and both his campagins at HW were both exciting and ended in brutal fashion. you never said anything about the type of opponent, you specifically stated that haye will be boring at HW, when his first two runs were nothing of the sort and this was the only dull performance in his entire career. so which is it RDJ?? excitement or the quality of opponents??

    is this a confession??

while his punch out put was low and his performance was lackluster, valuev couldn't capitalize on haye. haye blasted valuev on numerous occassions leading up to the 12 round. i think your just frustrated as you've probably picked valuev to win, damn. you can cry with motorhead and all the other dumb haters that dont wanna give haye credit.

I think alot of people are missing the point here. Haye does not fight like this usually and showed he can be versatile by being elusive and box on the outside, a gameplan I was sure he would try and execute against Valuev but one he would eventually abandon trying to achieve the knockout. However he did the right thing by boxing Valuev although his punch output was disappointing, I do believe his right hand was broken as he was hardly throwing it at times. If he fights Ruiz you'll see a very different David Haye who I believe will knock Ruiz out. The Klitschko's are another story but Haye will fight them differently to how he did with Valuev, with a better attack.

How the hell did he not convince? He ROCKED VALUEV IN THE 12TH!!. He can punch , he's in shape, and he's for real. Only time will tell how well he does.
