Then your knowledge is ****. The Maccarinelli fight was basically unknown except to the few hardcore fans who watch every televised fight possible (or at least those who have Showtime)

Sure, in the boxing world, the Klitschko fight was a big deal, but only to big boxing fans and because HBO said so.

Basically the heavyweights are dead in the states, therefore, outside Mayweather and Pacquiao, boxing is dead here.

    David Haye is correct.

I think that's correct, 2 televised fights. Not sure, the Valuev fight might have been on one of those jank "integrated sports" ppvs that are happy to sell 30k.

I think you're overstating the impact of Haye Enzo in the US, here's what precluded it from being big:

    1. it's boxing without Oscar, Floyd, Pac
    2. It was on SHO. Their big fights have a million viewers, say. I mean, Broner is too big for SHO
    3. Neither guy had been on american tv
    4. Don't remember if it was live early afternoon, but if so, take 50% off

Chances are, you hang around this board long enough, and you've interacted with most of the Enzo Haye US viewership.

Wlad Haye did receive some cautious promotion. They probably had hopes for Haye, but weren't sure what he was gonne bring. Savvy call, allowed them to lampoon him all night long.

i remember the enzo fight it was on SHO at night while HBO had Valuev on which may have swayed viewers as a 7 foot hwt was in the US defending his title

to be totally honest, no one knows about david haye over here, but if he got the exposure he'd be famous. so many people would hate him. americans would wanna see him get his block knocked off.

Sidenote: I was gonna boxrec this, assumed this was the Valuev Barrett hulksmash fight, turns out this had happened earlier. I have a clean chrome install, expected "david ha" to bring him up on autosuggest, surprisingly not top 3. Hasselhoff is 1, that's staying power! Even not the top suggestion for "david hay"! Maybe it's a west coast thing.

Every single US fight fan knows him well, the casuals or the general Public don't IMO.

Neither of those fights were big here. If Haye were an American, he'd the highest paid fighter in the sport

Haye gets ZERO exposure in America. The one and only chance he had to make an impression on the US media was the Wlad fight. His performance was an absolute disgrace and now American Fat Dan will never let him forget it.

Any accomplishments he had before that were only noticed by hardcore cruiserweight fans. His handful of heavyweight fights were not even mentioned in the US sports news.

Yeah, that was his biggest exposure. I'm sure a lot of Americans were wondering who either of those guys were during that news scrolling at the bottom of the ESPN Ticker.

Euro cruiserweights get no coverage here of course. Showtime did fight fans a service and picked up the Macca fight, but not many people have Showtime anyway. His venture into the HW division got no coverage here until the Wlad fight and anybody who tuned in out of curiosity now hates him.

First up it was a question. Secondly I know for a fact Haye V Macc was primetime showtime thats why the fight was on early hours in the UK. Right or wrong?

Again, this thread is clearly biased. Lots of your papers have covered Hayes HW reign. Anyone got any non-biased views here>
