Great fighter, good business sense, knows how to sell himself and is looking to get as much out of the sport without a great deal of physical damage. Not necessarily a fan friendly boxer but certainly understands how to hype up his fights. Looking forward to Haye-Fury great event for Heavyweight Boxing.
On another note, Fury demonstrated against Johnson that he can follow through a set Game-plan for a full 12 rounds if needed. By use of the Jab, Left hook to get around Johnson's shoulder defence, good ring generalship and lateral movement by Fury. I understand Haye's another animal altogether, but Fury's detriment is probably his own pride. When he got hurt against Krajic and Cunnigment he makes himself too open to hit and went down both times. :conf
He's obviously a good fighter but more of a business man/ego maniac. The guy fights once every two years or something and robs people's hard earned money with **** box office fights that always disappoint.Theres something fishy about him pulling out of the Charr fight too,I think he's looking at fighting Fury next which makes more sense financially. Don't you think it's a coincidence that both Haye and Fury pulled out of their fights round about the same time?
well hopefuly, they'll get it together and hopefully they'll give us a good domestic showdown to talk about. The thing with Haye for me at heavyweight is that he hasn't really beat anyone that I rated at the time he fought them when there are other contenders about. I'm not saying he can't fight but I'm just not really convinced. We're talking about a man who has claimed a "world" heavyweight "title". Sometimes when fighters are given a better challenge by other contenders who are at their peak or with their best years still ahead of them it brings the best out of them and maybe we still haven't seen what he is actually capable of. I'd like to see him at his best, see what he is like when he's in a fight.
That's about right, mate. Some on here think he would beat Sonny Liston and Joe Frazier, though.
There was a thread in the general a while back Haye vs Frazier and 70 percent reckoned Haye would beat him I couldn't believe what I was reading.Smokin Joe was awesome in his day,the guy was an Olympic gold medalist and held the world title for nearly three years. One big left hook from Joe Frazier and Haye would be squirming on the canvas like a fish out of water. You got a guy that fought and beat Muhammud Ali the greatest of all time and then you've got Haye who has done nothing besides talk **** and get embarrassed by Wladimir Klitchko.
It's more his inactivity as a HW that leaves you questioning him as a fighter. The money is at HW & he is a shrewd businessman he has done well for himself in that regard. As a cruiserweight very, very dangerous & can be rightly talked about one of the greatest in that weight division. The Wlad fight was a real disappointment the excuses after he should of kept in house.70% of people saying Haye would beat Frazier is comical frankly he would of got hurt & stopped like the Thompson fight but at HW.Do think he would have too much speed for Fury & if Cunningham can drop him then Haye certainly can.
I agree with everything you say really but I don't get the reasoning of the last sentence. A lot of people seem to be saying it. "If Cunningham can drop him then Haye certainly can". Maybe he can but wether he will or not is a different story. Just one example, Henry Cooper and Sonny Banks both put ali down but George Foreman undoubtedly a much bigger puncher than the pair of them couldn't. By the way, I'm not comparing Foreman and Ali her ith Fury and Haye.
Haye's made a lot of money at HW by not doing very much in the ring. His HW career is manufactured and for that reason I'm not that impressed given the status he has achieved with the public. If you asked Haye in private I'm guessing he would say it's all about the most money for as low a risk as possible. That's ok for Haye but as a fan I want to see the Carl Froch attitude. Froch will be remembered in a better light than Haye when ATG British lists are drawn up but Haye will have a bigger bank account. It depends how you rate genius, Salvidor Dali said "A man's genius is measured in his gold". Personally I'm not sure as a fan of boxing if I give a crap how much money a fighter has, where they live or what car they drive.
Al, just think with Haye his speed may have Fury in trouble. You are correct every fight is different & I think Fury thought he could bully Cunningham from the start think he will be more wary against Haye but if it happens personally I think Haye will win.
That's fair enough opinion. For me I'm just unsure because I don't rate any of his heavyweight opponents. I'll be interested to see how he copes in the later rounds if it gets to them and Fury does start using his size, bullying him and mixing it with boxing of course. The end of the day, Fury is untested really as well but I did like the way he went about it against Cunningham. I'd of actually like to see Haye in with someone like Cunningham who can match him for speed rather than the other fellas he fought. I'm not gonna get carried away here but you know it's all about styles, i do wonder what type of fighter is the wrong style for Wlad and I think it could be another big tall fella with a good workrate who can jab with him and push him into a tearup, bully him in other words. Whoever beats Wlad is gonna have to take chances.
At heavyweight his stopping Chisorabmust not be overlooked something neither Vitali or Fury came close to doing.
Haye is the second best heavyweight in the world right now, well that's working on my assumption father time and politics have made Vitali far less of a force than he once was. He shown very little interest in a rematch with Wladimir, and that for me says loads.
