"My weight was an issue before the Mormeck fight because I had to come down from 230 pounds but the highest I went up after the fight was 218, so it hasn't been as difficult for me to make weight this time," Haye insisted. "I don't feel like I'm putting myself at risk. If I did, I'd have said, 'Thanks, but no thanks,' and I'd have moved up to heavyweight." I guess Haye has no problem making CW. It's a shame he doesn't want to stick around and try to become just the second ever super unified champ. Oh well. Good luck at HW Haye.:good
Where does that say he has no problem making CW? It says it's been easier this time than for Mormeck, not that it hasn't been a problem. Haye is worried about getting seriously hurt at CW as dehydrated fighters are prone to getting head injuries apparently, hence the comment about not putting himself at risk.
That weight **** was bull**** all along. He's clearly avoiding the LEGITIMATE threats at cruiserweight (Cunningham and my man Godfrey) and trying to cash out in a big heavyweight fight, in which, he would undoubtedly, be killed in (or maybe just KO'D). He's a hype job. Leaving the cruiserweight division at this point is selfish and irresponsible. There are serious contenders on the horizon.
Yeah, winning the title and then fighting another champion in the next fight clearly shows he is avoiding Cunningham. Who the **** is Godfrey?
Haye never got more than 18 lbs above the limit for before this fight. He had to lose 30 for the Haye fight. He also said he didn't think he was putting himself in danger. It seems to me that this guy can still make CW. All of these Haye pole jockers have been saying he can't make the weight. Well, it looks like that isn't the case. That's ok. Hopefully Macca will beat him down. Then Haye can continue with his pipe dream of cleaning out the HW division.
Mac's belt is thoroughly worthless. I guess you have your head so far up David Gaye's ass that you've neglected the rest of the cruiserweight division. http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=249153&cat=boxer
should he have fought godfrey before or after mormeck? :huh and haye had been talking about moving up to HW as soon as he won a CW title, since he became the WBC number 1. its not like he suddenly decided to move up. even this fight with macca is just a bonus to give uk fans the fight they want to see. how many tickets would haye-godfrey have sold in the uk or the states? would it have even been televised?
Ok man, obviously you are an idiot so I shall chose not to respond to you, . Try to be a boxing fan though as oposed to a hater/hugger :good
