I think the main issue was with Haye is that he was good at selling himself but to the point of overselling. Which when it happens once you can maybe forgive it however if you have a memory span that exceeds more than one fight then a pattern emerges.
After the Vlad fight he was done as far as I was concerned but was surprised when the general public would get sucked in time and time again afterwards. If we then fast forward to the Bellew fights you can clearly see in The Gloves Are Off episodes before both fights it's clear as day that Haye doesn't remotely believe anything he's saying. As his confidence is totally shot knowing deep down that he's physically shot.
He was always a used car salesman who had a decent career in a weaker era.

Think he beats everyone apart from Parker, Joyce, AJ and fury even then give him a punchers chance he did have some above average power shame his body quit on him still hate that he gave bellew two easy wins to ride the coat tails off

In my mind he's lucky he didn't fight Fury in 2012/13 because you'd have seen a real fighting man beating the hell out of a celebrity little fighting man. Should have been Fury's come out of the closet fight instead Fury only got respect after resurrecting himself against Wilder...then people finally realized how special he is.
