He says himself he is a possible knockout waiting to happen. That is the attraction of watching him fight.

I've been saying this for months. People believe this glass-jawed hype job is the "savior" of the HW division?? Puh-LEEZ. He can't take the punches of supermiddles or old cruisers without hitting the deck. He's gonna be destroyed by any decent HW, knocked out early, probably with the first solid shot that lands.

No, some of them can actually TAKE punches and keep coming - Chuvalo, McCall, Mercer, Tua come to mind. Others hit the deck but get up and win - Wlad and Larry Holmes come to mind here.

Others, however, like Fraudley, Rahman, Maskaev, can't take a punch and end up specializing in getting brutally KTFO. Haye is soon to join them, count on it.:yep

Why are people posting comments about British posters wanting to believe Haye is capable of winning etc? What's wrong with a fighter having support from his fans? Why even mention nationality?

For me Vitali is the favourite, but I don't see whats not to like about Haye. He's one of the only heavyweights actually in a decent physical condition and is going for the toughest challengers he can find to test himself. Can you see Valuev for example coming out and calling out both Klitschko brothers?!

What have the following people got in common:

    Jack Dempsey
    Max Schmeling
    Jack Sharkey
    Max Baer
    Jim Braddock
    Joe Louis
    Ezzard Charles
    Jersey Joe Walcott
    Floyd Patterson
    Ingemar Johansson
    Sonny Liston
    Ernie Terrell
    Jimmy Ellis
    Joe Frazier
    George Foreman
    Leon Spinks
    Larry Holmes
    Michael Spinks

Not to mention a few from the current crop
    Wladimir Klitschko
    Samuel Peter
    Oleg Maskaev
    Hasim Rahman

(and load of others I can't be arsed to type)

....they were (or are) all heavyweight world champions who have been knocked out. To the OP, do you realise what you said was about the most uninsightful post in the history of fat internet warriors.

While it may not be difficult to pick, I'd say Haye hit Barrett just as hard as Wladimir did. That one left hook, the first knockdown was simply amazing.

Exactly how you do NOT class Wlad as a knockout waiting to happen, shows a proper double standard on your part.....both guys are knockouts waiting to happen, both have weak chins. Simple as. Yes, Wlad has tightened up his defence and is hard to find these days, very hard to find.

At the same time Haye has the speed and reflexes to be difficult to find as well, particulalry against the slower HW's.

But either way, both are vulnerable fighters, and as soon as they start taking flush HW power punches, will get stopped most likely. I would be highly surprised, nay shocked if both of them retire before getting KOed at least once.

    Wow, what an incisive comment.

You have to be something pretty special to not get KO or TKO against your name in the heavyweight division. You must either have a special defence, an out of this world chin, suffer no cuts or injury even after taking heavy blows from huge men. Or fight drab competition.

this is exactly why wlad is gonna be hard for anyone to stop now. He fights behind a killer jab and stays tall which is a lot more effective than jumping in with power shots, leaning forward, hands down a la haye. also, wlad is very hard to hit with combinations. he is very good at avoiding the follow up punches.

speed and reflexes don't substitue for sound fundamentals cause Haye slowed down badly against barrett and he became quite easy to hit. A better boxer would have taken advantage and made Haye pay.

and facts are fact, wlad hasn't been down in 8 fights. haye went down against barrett imo albeit against a weak punch which was probably more due to fatigue.

haye is far more vulnerable and we don't know even know how bad his chin yet. When u fight as reckless as haye, ur bound to get caught.
