Imagine who it might have been had Frank Warren got hold of him:patsch
With so many names touted and then pulling out I think they have done well to get Barrett.

Barrett really pisses me off. Sometimes he comes in good mental and physical condition and puts on excellent performances and sometimes he's just wack, like that Cliff Couser loss wasn't supposed to be a loss yet he managed to pull it off knowing his attitude sometimes.

The sad part is that I know he's a very good fighter with decent skills but you never know what version will end up in there, if it's the crap version then Haye gets nothing from it and the Chambers fight will be way better for him.

You forget the mighty power of Cliff Couser, the ''Tyson twin''.How dare you mock the great Couser?:D Anyway yeah Monte could have been a lot better then what he turned out but anyway it is what it is and he gonna give Haye a fight.

Barrett looked sharp against Tye Fields. Sharp and motivated.

Just a hater. Care more about himself than watching a good fight. Will it be a good fight? I dont know. But i hope so. Not a bad start for Haye.

Barrett is a step above Bonin and a good way to get shot at real top 10 HW.
If Haye beet Barret he is just one step before the title shot.
I see him fighting in an eliminator for the mandatory position.

expect Haye to last about as long as Tye Fields did against Barrett.

I don't think there was ever any negotiation with Toney, was there? I know he said he would fight Haye, but it never amounted to anything. Rahman is **** poor now, anyway. I'm not sure why the negotiations fell apart for that one, but probably something to do with Rahman wanting more than he was worth.

    BoxingGuru?

More like BoxingMoron who else was he supposed to fight, Toney is old and fat and the rest have just had fights or are about to have them.

You need a reality check if you have a problem with this fight.

That's what he was promising he'd do, amidst all the cocky bravado.

But, Barrett is a decent first heavyweight fight, I guess.

The Hypemaker can still kiss my *ss until he actually does something, but I have no problem with this matchup.

Barrett is probably the best guy around who will fight for next to nothing...if Haye's people are so f*ckin' incompetent that they wait until 2 months out, to select an opponent for a fight they've been hyping all year...Monte is the best we can hope for...Haye didn't want a fight, but he may get one anyway.

Barret beens a solid gateway fighter for a long time. He will be a good test for Haye.
