Erm the only problem is he doesnt.Haye ships LEAD right crosses. He doesnt have a style that can use the shoulder roll effectively if at all.Haye just simply carrys his left low end of.Unless he raises that hand to defend his face his getting knocked out and quick.

That isn't true at all. He is tall, rangey and fast. He says he gets caught at cruiser cos of draining himself so much to make weight so he isn't as sharp. Nevertheless I've seen Haye produce magic with his defence out of shoulder roll.

Of course it isnt.I suggest you go and watch Haye vs Mormeck again and see the amount of LEAD right hands he took flush.Bearing in mind Mormeck is a brawler and hasnt got the quickest hands or a more stand up boxing style id say Haye needs to tighten up his D and fast.

Achilles I tend to side with Scurla on this one. Haye carries his left low but stands too square on to effectively use his shoulder as a guard. He gets caught by rights over the top as counters but also lead rights straight down the pipe. I do however think he will be more effective at Heavy. Haye is a freakishly hard hitter his punches do not stop on impact he powers right through his opponents, but at heavyweight he brings speed which was not his major strong point at cruiser- i think speed will become his biggest asset.

I agree that Haye does take a quite a few right hands but like I said it doesn't mean he isn't employing shoulder roll badly. We are talking about one of FOUR men to be the man at cruiserweight so as you can imagine he is doing something right.

Yes he stands square on sometimes. It is also true that he won't move his shoulder in time but these things can and most likely will be improved. He says the weight is causing him to lack sharpness - this is believable.

I still maintain I've seen Haye produce magic out of shoulder roll. I've seen him make fighters (including Mormeck) miss 3/4 shots and then counter with great shots.

Haye can fight out of full guard and half guard. If Haye just pinned his hands to head like Cotto, he wouldn't be Haye anymore. It could make hmi more robotic.

As he is, he is fluid, letting awkward jabs go, is dynamic and think about how much energy Haye saves by nothing having to keep his hands pinned by his head.

Haye isn't the finished article. He has a long way to go BUT he has shown he is improving all the time and has totally changed as a fighter from his early days.

I am sure the answer isn't for Haye to just hold his left hand up. He simply needs to become more concious of right hands because I know he has all the answers to deal with them. He just needs to become a little sharper. Haye can fight out of half guard, full guard, he rolls with shots, moves his head, uses his feet etc
