I don't understand why a fighter gets knocked down and suddenly they have a glass jaw. Fighters get knocked down, doesn't mean they have a glass jaw, especially when it is a pissy flash knockdown come slip like Haye's was against Barrett.

He brings excitement thats what matters atm. Boxing people already know about his vulnerabilities.

I think it would be better to let both of them fight champions.

That way we have two top prospects to wait for. They have plenty of time face each other after their title shots.

bull****.....Haye has dominated everyone he's been in the ring with, if not then they've all been KO'd (with the exception of his one loss)

he's also proven that he has the Power to flatten full HW's and speed to help fully utilize his power

plus he has some damn good reflexes, he can avoid most shots thrown at him...and if he does hit the floor, he's shown enough heart to get off the canvas 100% of the time

i'd say David Haye is the answer for HW division win or lose seeing how he singlehandedly brought excitement back into this boring ass division

yeah it was actually, alot more exciting the Wlad-Ibragimov, Wlad-Thompson or any of his most recent fights

but thats not what i was getting at, what i was saying was the fact that you felt the need to make this thread is product of the "excitement" he created within the HW division

Yeah i think the flaws are obvious.......the wild swings when he has his man in trouble, his lack of starting stregth (Barrett was pushing him about) and the lack of know how when under the cosh....him moving in straight lines. BUT

Speed, Power, offense are amongst the best there is in heavyweight history........reminds me of a prime Arsenal team (overatted becuase of there style and offense) but would be grinded down by a prime Chelsea team under Mourinho.

Im a big fan of David Haye.....watched him as an amatuer, seen 90 per cent of his fights. I predicated a 4th round KO against Barrett....wrong by one round. The main thing is this.......will Haye go on to dominate like the past heavyweight greats.....not so sure BUT i do believe he will capture a belt.

Funnily enough im gonna go against the grain......to what most are thinking-

He beats Vitali (knocking him out) but Losses to Vlad. Of course i could be wrong BUT there just something i visulalise when i see them fighting.

Anyhow the future is interesting......for the heavyweights./

Ive been watching the Vitali/Peter fight again and I really dont know what you guys are seeing. Vitali was sooo slow, he worked off a prodding jab, if he doesnt put more speed on it with Haye he wont hit him, atleast Wlad has a speed on his jab. Also Vitali is injury Prone and OLD!!! Peter never got him to move, his footwork actually looked sloppy. What happens when injury prone old Vit doesnt find Haye in the 1st half of the fight? I used to follow the concensus that Vit wins, watch the fight again and watch Haye after. Vit really does look like he is fighting in slow motion by comparison. I think we could have a big upset when they meet, I know where my money will be.
I have a feeling Haye may be making the right decesion to fight Vit first.
Oh yeah and before you all start hating, go and watch the fights again.

But that is not the point here. We have a HW who knocks ppls heads off, tries to land bombs from the opening bell, how is that not going to create some excitement?

No way is he going to KO Vitali. Vitali is very awkward and hard to hit as he leans back with his head instead of moving laterally or blocking/parrying the punch intended. This being said he has a fantastic chin. I remember the hellacious uppecut that LL hit him with in there bout. The guys head rocked back and he just kept walking forward and simply absorbed it without being staggered. If any of the brothers are going to be KO`ed by Haye it will be Vlad. Vlad crouches, loses size in the ring and has terrible trouble with punchers who have even a modicum of speed.

Remember how excited the Klit-ites all got when WALDO rematched Byrd? Or when he beat up Mercer?

    I do.

The Byrd fight maybe. Byrd was woefully outclassed both times they fought. As for the Mercer bout definitly not. Mercer spent too much time calling him out. Unfortunately for the old man he got what was coming to him.

He is not going to fight Povetkin too much to lose. He will fight Vitali as soon as possible then he will try to fight Vlad as soon as possible after that. make his money and perhaps leave. he is not interested in fighting more than he has to. what makes you people think that these guys like to fight?

It is not out of the question that haye wins by a decision (anything is possible) Vitali is not slow, he is not as fast as Haye but he doesn't have to be. he just stalks, him cut off the ring and hurts him. Fighting a tall hard hitting person with anytype of athletic ability is difficult look at vlads fights people donot ever hit him. The Vitali fight against Peter he did what he had to do. What was given him. Peter should have rushed in all out may have lost earlier but that is the only chance that he has to win.
