I don't mind seeing that fight in any way. However, some people will get reminded what the real speed relation between the two is when Haye is 220+. And how much his power is worth in the heavies when he lands one or two a round, and his opponent is 250lb instead of 200.
David Doesnt even have the tools get his big stinking ass in to the ring when it is time to walk the walk:yep But I agree, Hw division need guy like Haye who make some real noise and tries to get attention in to the hw scene :nod
What makes this fight so interesting is that Wladimir is used to his opponents staying on the line and not moving their head, they become suckers for his right hand and he is able to control space/distance with the jab. Haye does use head movement to draw leads and counter punch, BUT he is also extremely wreckless, infact he is probably one of the most wreckless top fighters active today, and i think Wlad's concentration levels are so high when he is the ring that any reaching or wrecklessness gets Haye put to sleep, on the other hand how is Wlad gonna deal with someone who does not stand infront of him and gives him angles where he cannot line up his right hand ? Wlad seems to be so concentrated in the ring because of his fear of getting knocked out and that could spell danger for a wreckless Haye. This content is protected This content is protected
Haye is a little reckless at times, as another posted put it. but look at some of the oppenent that gave Wlad trouble, TOS was ver reckless against Wlad in october of 04, he was able to floor Wlad, make him panic, and really gave Wlad fits before the fight was stopped by a cut. Sam Peter was as reckless as they come, and we all seen how uncomfortable and fragile Wlad looked in that fight. So reckless may be a good thing, it's all about taking Wlad out of that comfort zone and making Wlad fight instead of box. Haye has the tools to give Wlad trouble, it's up to him to follow through with it.
Peter made wlad uncomfortable cause he could walk through Wlad's power and keep coming forward. Additionally, Peter had more raw strength than Wlad so he could kind of throw Wlad off of him in the clinch and deliver those awkward shots. Haye won't even get close. Wlad's punches are a lot sharper than Haye's so any speed advantage is completely neutralized. I'd go so far as to say, Wlad's 1-2 is the fastest of any boxer above LHW right now. This is a mismatch.
not to mention the Wlad of 2009 is a much better fighter than the Wlad of 2005. Remember Wlad was at his low point confidence wise for the Peter fight. It was do or die for him. When Peter could not beat that version of Wlad I knew Peter would never make it.
Actually, TOS wasn't "reckless" at all. There was another reason why he was successful, charging and attacking wasn't his plan.
Exactly, That's why the division needs Haye, the level of opposition is that ****ing poor!! What is the alternative to watching Haye vs Wlad/Vitali?
Hmm, seems as though you have some sort of homosexual fantasy about mens jaws... wonder why Can I ask a serious question though? You CONSTANTLY ***** about fighters with supposed weak chins and basically describe them as if they are complete bums. So how does Wlad still retain belts when by the sounds of it any frail old man from the street could walk into a gym and knock him out with a jab? It's almost like you are suggesting that skills dont even matter if you have a weak chin? As for all this nonsense talk of shattered glass, can you tell me the last time that Haye was counted out, as from memory he's only been stopped once and it was on his feet. Rather than accuse all brits of being fan boys why not instead think about what you're saying, as Nigel Benn (you may have heard of him) by your standards has a glass jaw, but was a pretty good champion Christ, just noticed you're also from ATL... please tell me you moved there? lol
Peter was also reckless in this fight as well, he went after Wlad throwing overhand right bombs at him. Wlad was so used to sitting back shooting off jabs and straight rights all night because his oppenents would let him impose his will on them. Anyone that said "**** it", had some success or knocked out Wlad. Wlad's 1-2 is amazing, always has been. Though while it may look like a mismatch on paper, so were all 3 of Wlad's oppenents he lost to.:deal
I think Haye is dangerous when he is countering. I have to say, was it against Enzo, anyways he ducks opponents punch to side and them counters it pretty nicely. Haye has some good head movement and can slip away Wlad's straight punches.
Wlad was not at a low point in his career, he was nearly a year and half removed from his loss against Brewster, and had what 3 or 4 straight wins coming into this match? This was the fight to determine who fought Bryd for the belt in march or april of 06.
