It could, but it will take alot of work and cooperation on his part to wanna improve, the guy has a ton of talent, but even in this weak Heavyweight division, you will need more than fast, powerful hands to dominate the division IMO.
I agree. But if Oleg 'creaking bones' Maskaev can have a belt until recently, then anyone with fast powerful hands is a chance. Note: Oleg is not crap before people wade in, but hes old, well past his best, and was never a world beater to begin with. A solid contender level at his best.
It does if you struggle down to the weight, Cotto was an example knockeed down by Torres and troubled in a couple more fights. Then he moved to 147 and hasn't been troubled once by the bigger guys.
Haye is about as intimidating as a little girl. Although he is right about the heavyweight division, that much can be said. In all honesty he is just doing a little marketing work. He may take a belt he may not given the current state of the division. I don't see him holding for long though, he would have to be very careful fighting any reasonable fighter with a chin and a punch at heavy. but his exciting and it's only good for the division.
Haye should bring some life into the division and make for some exciting fights win or lose which can only be a good thing. I think his comment about W.Klit being a disgrace to the division was a bit over the top, but I would have readily agreed if he had phrased it differently and stated that his last performance was a disgrace which it was. To fight the way he did in MSG which is the Mecca of boxing on the east coast was disgraceful, especially considering he is the champion in most peoples eyes. Like it says under my avatar "To win without risk is to triumph without glory", and that is exactly what he did that night to a T.
I think all of the cruiserweight belts he holds kind of disproves that theory. To be honest, he's more like a Michael Moorer. Great power below heavy, probably have good power at heavy, but also still has a cruisers chin at heavy. Probably not quite as good technically, but a little more power.
Before Haye lets his fists do the talkin in the HW division, I´m left totally cold by that "Klitschko´s a disgrace" bull**** ! If they fought tomorrow I would bet that "the disgrace" would **** him up so bad he wouldn´t see daylight again, but we don´t know since Haye hasn´t fought any good fighters at all at HW. Before he has, he needs to STFU.
Haye is just trying to get his name out there....taking his press clipping seriously would be unwise to say the least. As to where Haye winds up at HW? I don't know nor do I really care..alls I know is it'll be fun for once to watch a fighter in the HW class.
