A novel idea: Watch the fight and formulate an opinion.

It is not one of those fights where a look at Boxrec will suffice.

Had nothing to due with Chin issue(s). He was INJURED. Was Haye injured against Thompson? You are not comparing Apples to Apples.

We all know that Dr. Vitali Klitschko has a Granite Chin.

Haye has been put on his ass by blown up Super Middleweight. That is awful.

Time will tell anyway. If Haye gets past Valuev who I know is terrible Haye will get credit from me just for the size difference alone.

pretty good but he has yet to fight a true "power Puncher" if you look at his resume. The Brits say Haye has the speed of Ali and the power of Tyson so we will see how Valuev's Chin holds up.

Haye spends more time on his ass than on his feet. When he chickens out against Valuev his delusional fans will debate how easily he will knock out his next opponent and this will repeat itself ad infinitum.

If he has trouble taking the punches of supermiddles like Mock and old cruisers like Thompson or Mormeck - he's likely to have even greater trouble taking the punches of heavyweights. In short, while his chin may not have been glass at cruiser, it's likely to be at heavy.

Haye refused to fight a top ten heavyweight for good reason.

The chin was not the factor for Haye being stopped (BTW he wasn´t KOed), it was inexperience and stamina taht got Thompson the win.

Just see what happened to Lacy after he fought through a torn rotator cuff. Vitali is a doctor of sports science, he sacrificed one fight to save his career, smart choice.

Haye's loss to Thompson is very similar to Wlad's loss to Purrity. Inexperience, overpacing, chin had little to do with it.

I don't conclude much from that loss. What I see is that Haye is a very talented athlete and also a very sloppy fighter. He shows flashes of brilliance and then fights like a beginner in the same round. His character might prevent him from developing hios full potential, he should focus on getting fights to polish himself instead of being all focused on business at this stage of his career. Chambers just fought Dimitrenko for 100 000 Euro and it elevated him as a fighter and he showed great improvements. Haye's last fight was not impressive, won it on his superior talent but showed no improvement as a boxer.

I wouldn't say Haye has a glass jaw, let's say his chin is average for a CW, maybe suspect but not glass. A glass chinned guy would go down and stay down for minutes. Obviously he also doesn't have a granite chin.

But I say this about Haye: His style of swinging wildly and trying to look spectacular leaves him very open and off-balance a lot. As a result, he appears to stand ridiculously open without any guard in front of his opponent at times. This fact combined with an average chin makes him extremely vulnerable. More vulnerable than most.
