Just watched Povetkin - Chambers on YouTube and here is what I think.

I like Povetkin. He has a good work ethic, and excellent footwork. He works well off the jab. However, I see nothing spectacular or truly jaw-dropping. His power is not great, his handspeed is decent, he is a little to dependent on his jab and right-hand, also throws a lot of headshots. He also got hit very cleanly by Chambers and was outboxed by chambers for long periods. I think Chambers is the more skilled boxer, but he wasn't strong or fit enough to keep Povetkin off for 12 rounds.

He is without doubt the the best prospect in the division, but i think that says volumes about the weakness in the division.

Haye however, has impressed me nearly every time I have seen him fight. He has looked like a world-champion since his very first pro fight. He has looked special, whereas Povetkin has looked good.

AS LONG AS HAYE CAN TAKE A HEAVYWEIGHT PUNCH, which we dont know yet, he would beat Alexander Povetkin. He has longer reach, more aggression, excellent footwork to match Povetkin. He can box as well as Chamber, but he has the power to hurt Povetkin and make him think twice before marching forward unlike Chambers. Give Haye a few fights at heavy, and to be fair back-to-back fights with Mormeck and Macarinelli is just as tough as facing some top-20 gatekeeper type guy coz they both have heavyweight power, and I am sure that Haye will be able to KO him.

    I agree.

But as usual, we will have to wait & see how he carries his weight in the heavies. Until then, Povetkin > Haye.

I was fairly impressed by Povetkin. He beat an undefeated- and skilled- fighter in his 15th fight. He also has defeated a former world champion, a world champion challenger and all but two of his opponents had winning records. What other heavy over the past 20 years can boast these accomplishments? Maybe Lewis.

Yes its impressive, but now we've seen Povetkin fight two world-class operators, skills guys, but he's not dominated either or them.

What did Wlad Klitschko do to Byrd? THATS special. Povetkin, very impressive for 15 fight novice, but he didn't do a Klitschko on him. He didn't do an Ibeabuchi on him.

If Haye fought Byrd the KO would be nastier than the Ike KO, truly.

Haye COULD KO anyone in the division. He could also be KO'd by anyone. If it werent for his chin he'd be the next Tyson.

No. Wlad destroys Haye. But Haye beats most of the crap that you rate as great fighters.

Nothing to do with colour, ignoramous.
