I really cannot stand the arrogant poser. Always waited for him to do something that made me look past his persona in order to acknowledge him as a top fighter. Instead I switch the tv on on Saturday night to see his conceited face telling the world how vitali had come into his dressing room where he (haye) "Was in his boxers getting dressed" and apparently vitali commented on how good looking his body is:barf This speaks volumes for me and never have I witnessed a sportsman so openly in love with himself on live tv.. ****
But when you lose on a poor show then it is ambarrassing. And yes he got dominated, and afterwards humiliated himself by showing his toe.
He was never the champ - he was merely a beltholder. He's only fought one good opponent at HW and put in a poor performance that night. Now these things happen and one bad performance wouldn't normally be enough to write someone off - but we need to see him perform in the ring against someone else from the top 10. If the Vitali fight can't happen, move onto someone else - there are plenty of good matchups for him. Until he does, he won't get much respect from me. Less talk more action.
I do not think you can rank Haye or anyone until they are retired, which lets be fair, although he say's he is, my guess is, we will see Mr Haye in the ring later this year. Great at CW, explosive and great power. At HW decent power and speed, fought decent but not great opponents. The fight against Wlad was an under par Haye, whether that was nerves, lack of tactics or the infamous toe, I would love to see him on the level again. Would the outcome be the same? I don't know. Before then I would love to see him test himself against another top 10 ranked fighter
Me too and the majority of folk feel this way too... Lennox lewis spoke to haye and advised him to take some build up fights against top 10 fighters and then go for vitali. I believe freddy roach suggested haye should fight chisora.. Most people think that he should just fall back in line and do what the other fighters do and work his way back into contention. Not Mr David Haye who openly thinks he deserves and immediate crack at vitalis title.. ffs the lad behaves like he has achieved greatness and can dismiss all the other challenges in order to **** the sport of as much money as possible in return for as little as possible.
I've noticed this alot; when a British fighter loses these 'British experts' bash them always but most of them haven't even had a world title reign for more than a year and or have only fought on european/british level.
