Apologies, as now there are quite a few threads regarding boxers and the UFC.....well Mayweather and the UFC to be precise. But thats all rumors from dodgy websites/sources. This is an David Haye interview by the Telegraph; an actual credible source. "At some point in the future I may take 18 months off and to train in Mixed Martial Art techniques and would fight for a UFC title if I could," he said (David Haye) http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtml?view=DETAILS&grid=A1YourView&xml=/sport/2008/06/06/sohaye106.xml Personally i think he would do rather well in the UFC, l know its cliched but to me his an all round althlete (in the fact if he wanted to become say a Rugby player he could of...in that sense, in the same way that many believe Americas best althletes go into the NFL etc. hence maybe why no decent US hw). Apparently his half decent on the ground at the moment. Would be a kick in the teeth to boxing tho, fighters like him are exciting, well esp over here in the UK. He has always fought good good fighters as evidence with him becoming champ in like only 20 fights. PS. Just to add i think Haye has it spot on with regards to boxing, about fighters concerned with protecting their 0, the article is a good read.
He probably is lining this up. He keeps talking about his plan to be unifed heavyweight champ in something like 3 years, but he has an exact date on it and doesnt appear to want to fight on past that, it could be because he wants to move into mma after that.
