David Haye claimed that he is the the no.1 P4P puncher?

Do you agree/disagree and who do you think is really the no 1 p4p puncher?

Probably. But if we we look historically over even the last 15/20 years then there have been greater p4p punchers. Even Naz was a bigger p4p puncher than DH (and had a better chin).

Haye is definitely in with a shout.

    Also:
Roman Gonzales 21-0 (19 KO's) - Absolutely amazing for a guy fighting at Straweight.

Rafael Marquez 37-5 (33 KO's) - Couldn't put a dent in Vasquez, but Israel has amazing punch resistance; Rafa has a proven track record.

Juan Manuel Lopez 22-0 (20 KO's) - Ferocious hitter, need to see more of him at a higher level.

Vic Darchinyan 31-1-1 (25 KO's) - see Mijares fight, big hitter.

Alexander Munoz 32-3 (27 KO's) - Can be outboxed but possesses a potent dig.

Due to the size differential I generally rate guys fighting in the lower weight classes above those hanging about around the top of the weight divisions. No denying that Haye is powerful puncher though.

Yeah Valero has a massive punch; needs to up his game a bit (but I suppose its hard for him to get meaningful fights in his situation - brain scan ban and all; has had a couple of recent fights in Mexico though hasn't he?).

Could well be. Unlike guys in other weight classes, Haye will be KOing guys alot bigger than himself.

Valero's been knocking out Jap cab drivers. He's obviously got some power, but lets see how that translates at the top level. His power is only slightly more proven than Breidis Prescott.

I would say Abraham. Look at the way he KO's guys and they crumple to the canvas like they've been shot. They are brutal KO's, reminds me of Julian Jackson at times. I'm not sure Haye's have ever been quite as dramatic, but I'd have these at 1 and 2.

Haye's KO percentage says it all.

Has KOed every opponent he's beaten barring the one who he kept in there to deliberately go 12 rounds.

He is not that good. Elcock made him look **** for several rounds till he ran out of gas.

He's been cleared to fight in Texas I think. I would love to see him in with Pacquiao.

Came in to say Cintron. When he hits you clean it ****ing hurts.

At first I thought Haye was impressive last night power wise. Just watched a replay, not so impressed now. He never landed too many clean shots but he did a few times. I'd say last night was OK power wise but not mind boggling.

If he didn't land clean shots and took that guys legs away he must be a top puncher!

That a pretty good list although I'd like to see how Lopez fares against Vasquez or Marquez before making him #1

I would also have Pavlick in there somewhere.
