Watched the Haye-Ruiz bout today. Good power by Haye, but I think Ruiz lasts the fight unless his corner throws in the towel. Even at 38, Ruiz is still a durable guy. What I thought about while watching Haye is that he reminds me of a heavyweight version of Arthur Abraham, but without Abraham's defensive prowess. Both men have somewhat of a lackluster workrate but a good amount of power and speed. Each also has had issues with tiring in their fights. Haye got the job done today, but I still see no way he can defeat Vitali Klitschko and little reason to think he could defeat Wladimir Klitschko, either. Haye showed today that his defense is still very porous and he's susceptible to a good jab, a trademark of both Klitschkos. Wladimir's hammering jab, in particular, could prove very problematic for the Brit.
Thank you for that insightful post. You make some good points. I note your avatar and shall take that into account.
Haye's movement both with his legs and head (to some extent) is superior to AA's overall movement which for all intensive purposes is non existent.
Haye would need a KO against both Klits he'd lose rounds eating the jab. So it's possible he beats Wlad but he loses to Vitali.
Haye is nothing like Abraham, Abraham is slow as hell, Haye is fast. Abraham holds his guard up, Haye has his hands down by his side, your comparison is like comparing **** to sugar.
your avatar just kills anything you have to say, as its evidence you have a bias against haye. so your opinion as far as im concerned is null and void
If Haye had no defense, Ruiz would have marked up his face. It didn't happen, and Ruiz barely landed anything clean. All aa does is block punches, and he wasn't very successful last time.
Just like he punished Sanders right? All sanders did was move a little and counter the **** out of Wlad and his jab. Wlad's lack of head movement is a bigger concern.
Haye's head movement is all right. He gets sloppy and forgetful with it, though. Haye's guard isn't remotely as effective as is Abraham's, though. Haye is much better with his feet than Abraham, no doubt about that. Haye is good as a heavyweight but he still has lots of holes and much to work on. It's not an accident that all of his last three HW opponents were 36 years old or older.
