When did he say that? Do you have a source for that you can post here? Thanks.

I'm so sick of the attention whoring of David Haye I quit reading any of the posts about him until this one caught my eye.

But now I feel like the guy who needs to take a nice big dump, goes into the stall, lifts the lid and see's a **** storm from a bout of exploding diahrea that didn't get flushed.

He's realistic about his chin that's why.

Barret is a good test then if Wladimir is a no go and Peter loses to Vitali I would guess it's a possible matchup + the moooolah will be nice then.

It does nor shock me. It has become obvious that Haye does not want to face any top 10 heavyweight immediately, so he won't certainly face Peter. Nothing wrong about that.Haye just annoyed a lot of people with his trash talk, he just did not back it up. The guy still has a lot of talent but he also has something to prove now.

Wlad is WAY more of a risk than Sam Peter. Sam hasn't knocked out a top 5 heavyweight except GlassKaev.

That's very true, forgot about it. It was an interview on Setanta as well. He made it clear that he's better off aiming for Wladimir who beat Peter rather than fighting a guy Wladimir already beat which won't do him much as a title fight in his own words.

It was during an interview on Setanta sports, there are MANY of those on YouTube involving Haye.

This just does not make any sense. A Peter victory would give him a world title and set up a unification megamatch with Vladimir. Is it more interesting to fight fringe contender Barett?

It is safe to say that Haye does not want to face a top 10 heavyweight immediately. Nothing wrong about that, he just did a little bit to much trash talk.

So the reason Haye is supposed to have declined a fight against Peter was because Peter already lost to Wlad and a win against him wouldn't prove much?:huh

They were talking about a heavyweight title shot and he said he preferred Wladimir over Peter since Wladimir beat him already, they weren't referring to his next fight which is obviously going to be against a contender since it's only his 2nd Heavyweight fight and first serious one to STAY at that weight.

True about him not wanting to face a top 10 guy immediately, it's his first serious fight at the weight and second overrall. It's only logical that he will take a safe one for starters rather than risk it all in just one fight, there's good money to make for him to blow it all off in his very first serious attempt. Barrett is a good challenge, nothing to complain about there.

Don't think it was about that, this interview isn't very new, like a few months after his fight with Mac when he announced he's going heavyweight full-time. The discussion about fighting a champion came up and he said he would prefer to fight Wladimir than Peter who lost to Wladimir. It was more like a discussion, not a 100% decision making conversation.

    That is irrelevant then. Thanks.

    My question stands.

He said he wanted to fight a top 10 contender and then fight for a title.

Sam Peter already has a title, therefore fighting him was not a option.
