When a loud mouthed American is set to fight a Brit he is considered(in England)your typical loud mouthed disrespectful thuggish American.

When a Brit does the same you simply call him "brash" and leave it at that.

Hold the same standard for all.

So far Haye' s only claim to fame at heavy weight is a ko victory over a mediocre Polish journeyman . He hasnt faced a single known and recognisable name at heavy weight yet.
He for sure can punch,but how he fares against a decent heavy is still a big question mark.

 

he's already announced that he wants two fights at HW before having a crack at wlad. he's not looking to bypass everybody, that little show in london was all hype and it ****ing well worked. wlad's butt boys and the rest of the boxing community haven't stopped talking about.

Haye has no defense and cant take a punch. He will be starched at heavy.

 

HUGE difference. Haye has not said anything racial. Hopkins decided to make it into a race issue "I will never lose to a white boy" and then repeated it again and again.
That is not even comparable to what Haye is saying and doing.

Personally I don't like the way Haye is coming across at the moment, but having followed him since he was an amateur and having spoken to him online and had friends meet him in person, I know all this trash talk IS solely to sell himself to the US market and get attention on himself.

I still don't like it, but it is a cartoon villain act...and nothing racial or truly disgusting (like Mayorgas comments regarding Spinks' mother) have been said.

I am pretty confident that if he did somehow beat Wlad (which I highly doubt he would) he would drop the antagonistic angle pretty quick and you would see the Haye that the UK boxing fans have watched over the past few years, ie an honest, personable character who is candid about his own flaws.
